the myth out there that Islam is a peaceful religion. And who are you to judge this a myth?I think that it is very easy to judge Islam. Take a look at the countries where Islam is in the majority!! There is no peace there. Repressive goverments must suppress the religion and keep it from governing (Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria..)or it governs with repression of the people and the brutality of the Dark Ages (Afghanistan, Iran, Saudia Ariabia etc...). It is our duty to learn and keep evil far from us.

It is not! If you read about Mohammed you will learn that the reason he was dismayed about life was because he hated the idea that people were disorganized and worshipped idols. His attempts to introduce people to Allah (arabic word for God) were not immediate. Others convinced him that he could spread the word and help raise people up from dispair and poverty. His primary message was one which called for people to help the poor and defenseless among them. He did not call for Jihad! He tried to spread the word of God to give hope to a people who he say as disorganized and hopeless. Abu Bakr, his successor, was the person who called for Jihad and tried to take advantage of the faith in Islam to gain control of other lands.

Hmmmm.....you mean like the church governs in England? You might not be able to see it, but to me there is a huge difference between the freedom's of the Christian West (not perfect by any means) and the lands where islam is king. For me a woman there is no comparison. There is not a single islamic country where I would feel safe or free!!! I see the dark ages repression of women, where they are nothing more than property. Ask the Christians or those of any other religion in those countries if they feel safe from their own countrymen.

You DO NOT your facts straight about Mohammed not Allah. Mohammmed was not a peace maker. He made an ultimatum to the good folks: Believe this stuff or be killed with the sword. And he killed numerous ones who did not follow. Allah is not God Jeoviah(sp)of the Old or New Testament. He is a ggggggod .....one of 360 at the time! Look it up!!

"who am I to try to interject some reason in the midst of fanatism of another sort?" I fail to see Why it is that you perceive an attempt to inform as fanaticism? I think it is "reasonable" to know the enemy. And whether or not WE perceive Islam as the enemy is not important. What IS important is how THEY perceive it. And even if you assume that the terrorists do NOT represent ALL of Islam, it doesn't hurt to have some knowledge of where they are coming from. A religion is only as good as the foundation its built on. It is my belief that the foundation of Islam is pretty shaky but that the potential threat to America by its followers is great.

Glad to be of service. Now maybe you will explain something to me? What about the phrase "congenital defect" sickens a good Christian like you?
Any other Christians here "sickened" by my asking a persistent liar if her lying is "congenital"?

I love the way moderates try and name-call, as if that strengthens their arguments. Bwahahahhaha! Actually, it minimizes their effect, as in this case.

Ok, now I'm totally confused.

I do see it and I do believe it. I was simply trying to make a point. I know people (women) who lived under the suppression of Iran although you need to admit that not all Middle Eastern countries are the same. How many Middle Eastern countries have you seen that put their best and brightest women up front to speak for them? Egypt? India? Jordan? Iran has also in the past. It is not the religion that is the problem as much as it is the Mullahs who are interpreting it. Some of the Mullahs are illiterate and have never read the Koran yet they pass their ignorance on to the masses who are just as illiterate. My aunt lived in India for 4 years. I have another friend who loves India and travels as often as he can to visit his friends there. My aunt and my friend are both Scandanavian and have both told me of the poverty as well as the wonderful things that exist within the country. We are wrong to bulk all Muslims together under the cloth of evil.
I have another dear friend from Spain...obviously a Spaniard who is a musician. A fabulous musician named Manuel Iman. Manuel recently took many of the old poems and writings from India...wonderful writings of peace and beauty and put them to Western music. Look it up on the internet. Maybe it will help you to see that there is much within the culture that you are condemning that shows great heart and pride. Who are we to cast that stone on all the people of Islam?

I know the religion is not peaceful. It is based on the teachings of a war lord, a slave holder, a murderer, rapist, and pedophile.
My Moslem friend said that in his Mosque at least 15% support Bin Laden's attack on the WTC and in some areas of this country it is over 50% support for Bin Laden.
I know that aid workers were arrested for the crime of teaching Christianity. I know that women are treated little better than slaves in many of the Moslem countries.

I agree that we must all be worried about the Islamic fanatics who are a threat to us. But I also believe that there is a vast segment of that religion who are good people and do not need to be considered the enemy. YOU are making the enemy by painting them with the same broad brush that is used by the fanatics....much to their delight, I am sure, because it is certain to cause the great jihad they are hoping for. Go find my earlier post and check out the little blurb about mohammed on the internet, or do an internet search and check out the information that is available. You are doing a great disservice to all of America to believe one side of the argument, much of which is pure trash.
