Why does Bush make racial appointments of Democrats from the criminally negligent Clinton Administration? Why did those in the know fail to warn Pres. Bush?

Of course the technology is not biomedic but "biometric." He mixed up two letters... and you conclude that he is a fraud? Methinks that you're over-overreacting.
There are so many buzzwords, acronyms, and such nonsense floating around nowadays that you can't fault him for getting a few similar ones mixed up. Give the man a break.
The all-capital letter title is hardly warranted in this case.

I've listened to Sec. Mineta a number of times since 9-11 and find him to be straightforward, reasoned....an adult. Along with President Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Conde Rice he reassures by his refusal to rise to the nincompress's bait. Is there another reason you dislike Sec. Mineta besides his one mangled word (many Clinton appointees are glad Clinton's gone)?

I screw up the words "irradiate", "exacerbate", and "redistricting" every time I say them yet I know exactly what they are and mean.

Why does Bush make racial appointments of Democrats from the criminally negligent Clinton Administration? It was a token appointment. Little did the President know that the Sec. of Transportation would be front and center, due to the events of 9/11. It's still better that the token be in Transportation than Defense.
Would you really like to see William Cohen there now?

Mineta was a congressman who served for years on a House Transportation committee, a California Dem. Someone correct me if you prove otherwise, but I believe he came from the House of Representatives, NOT from WJC's administration. I think his race doesn't matter...

Bush's track record for Cabinet appointments is pretty good. Who knows perhaps Billary may have stumbled on to a good appointment, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

It would appear that anyone of average intelligence who hasn't been living a cloistered life would have no need for anyone "in the know" top clue him in that Clinton's people were all as bad as Clinton. Well, anyone except a politician I suppose. Prepare yourself for the possibility that Bush makes these spectacularly bad decisions on his own in some cases.

I think Mineta has done a terrific job. He's perfect for Transportation having served on that committee in the House. In fact, for a liberal democrap, he was one of the first out front pushing for privitization of airport security. Remember, we have to acknowledge our enemies when they are right.

Why does Bush make racial appointments You, sir, are beneath contempt. Those in government in the Transportation Department who know what they are talking about would not begin to malign the Secretary as you have.

Is it possible to keep this thread at the top of the 'breaking news' sidebar for at least a couple of days?
Hopefully everybody can read it.
ugh...

Get a grip. Your "opinion" (however inane and stuuuuuupid)) is not breaking news!

Jimmy Carter said that he was a Nuke-Ku-Lar Physicist. I knew right then that any real nuclear physicist could pronounce his own trained profession (it's Nuke-Clee-Er). It turned out that he was only a technician (not a physicist), with some nuclear training. I think mispronouncing the area of one's expertise is highly suspicious.
