Many of the conflicts I understand you to cast as "good vs. evil" are closer to "Satanism vs. Luciferianism".

God doesn't need to depend on man, but by His grace has provided us with Covenants. Human good is one of the most evil concepts cast.

I do not 'worship' fantasy; I enjoy reading it. I know people who enjoy reading westerns. Should I accuse them of 'dwelling in the past' or celebrating gunfights and floozies? What is it that makes fantasy so evil? Magic? I don't believe in magic. Unlike so many modern novels, fantasy always shows evil as evil and good as good... "and never the twain shall meet", with apologies to Kipling. So many fantasy stories are, like the myths and fairy tales they are based on, morality plays, wrapped in really good adventure.

By the way, if Christians would only write good stuff, I'd read that. However, there are only two living Christian authors whose work I enjoy; Stephen Lawhead and Frank Peretti. Instead of complaining and taking away books children love, maybe some of you anti-Potter people should write good stories yourself!

Arguing Theologic nuances is a marvelous exercise in logic & 'Theosophy!"

"Harry Potter," like "Star Wars," ISN'T Subtle! The "essence" of both stories is a CLEAR, uncluttered, examination of our Traditional Western concepts of "Good vs. Evil!"

Neither story promotes "Evil,"--BOTH stories show that EVIL (Traditional, Biblical, Western concepts of Evil) is destructive & a concept to be avoided!

THAT is the "Philosophical Point" of BOTH Stories!

ANY attempt to find "deeper meanings" in these "fairytails" is Pure Sophistry!

"Harry Potter" & "Star Wars" are--as ALL literature of their "ilk,"--"Morality Plays,"---No more or less!!
