Yes, let's tone down the Hypocrisy for awhile, The U.S. can always return to its full hypocritical stance later, after Americans forget how hypocritical our govt. is.

President George Bush is believed to have sided with the Pentagon and with the National Security Adviser, Condoleezza Rice, and has blocked Mr Powell from putting too much pressure on Israel to make concessions in the search for peace. As a result, Washington officials said, the long-awaited speech on US policy, which began to be drafted before the September 11 attack and which was to have been delivered several weeks ago, would be what one called "less of a new initiative and more of a general call for people to buck up their ideas".
Bump.

Thanks for the bump. That was my thought on the process. They're taking quite a bit of heat over continually demanding Israel remain peaceful in the face of terrorism.

I'm glad somebody reigned him in. He's a blabbermouth fool. He is on probation.

However, Mr Bush refused to meet the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, at the UN General Assembly, and at a diplomatic lunch he declined to greet or acknowledge him. Bush aides said he was signalling his dissatisfaction with Mr Arafat's efforts to crack down on terrorists in Palestinian-controlled territory. The snub so incensed Mr Arafat - he is said to have felt humiliated - that a UN envoy was sent to Gaza last week to calm him. This man, our president, never ceases to delight me.

Yeah, I'm grateful he's being watched too.
Sounds like they have him on a very short leash. It's probably also why he's been so out of the picture lately. Today's speech was the first one he's given in quite a while, isn't it?

There is a difference between peace and a gaging pacifier that prevents people from speaking up or defending themselves. Pacifiers are evil gagers and killers.

Glad to hear that Bush is not trying to pressure Israel from her own rights of self-determination.

Arafat was so upset that Mubarak of Egypt actually had the nerve to order our President to meet with him. Of course he was ignored, but do these third world fruit gnats not realize their position in regards to us? It is time for them to get some respect, the liberals have given them the impression that they are far more important than they actually are.

Colin Powell almost seems un-American to me, though he seemed like a "nice man", I wish he would just go away. President Bush, Ms Rice, Rumsfield, and Dick Cheney do a fine job of representing America and it's people, and I think we could be better off without Colin Powell.

When are we going to dump Powell? He is definitely not in synch with the team. Can him. The State Department needs EXLAX.
