Did you say "surrender?" I just knew there was a purpose in the rapid deployment of French troops to the battle front....

Before you cheer, there were not 30,000 but 3,000 in this cohort. I am skeptical of the truth of this.
To: Polybius
That is not necessarily good news. The Al Qaeda foreigners need to die in battle. Every last one of them. Perhaps that is happenning when the cameras are turned off

OH yeah, The UN will be involved. Boy that sure boosted my confidence level. So now I have airline security that is going to be as reliable as the United States Postal Service and the UN is going to make things all better in Afghanistan. No wonder i am not sleeping at night!
To: Stultis
Will the non-Afghan fighters be held and turned over to their respective governments?
These are all the idiots who chanted "Death to America" before heading to enlist in the taliban. I say let's brand their foreheads with the word COWARD and send them home.

Guess they must of heard there are really no virgins in Allah-land other than goats.
Only problem is; What do you do with 30,000 traitors?
Chain gang?

It is only good news if the Taleban are dead. If alive they will continue.

I would tend to agree with you with one thought, however, and that is that we need to keep in mind that some of the " fighters" were dragged from their homes with the threat to fight for the Taliban or die and the families too. So there may be Taliban and then there is the other Taliban... Sorting them all out will be a major problem. And don't forget, prisoners are a tremendous source of intell!

Agreed. However, the people we are referring to is the "foreign" (not Afghani) Al Qaeda fighters.
The Northern Alliance spares Afghani Taliban but has killed all the foreign Arab, Pakistani, Chechen, etc. Al Qaeda fanatics it can get it's hands on.
The Afghani Taliban will melt back into their villages after the war and not cause any trouble outside of Afghaniastan.
The foreign Al Qaeda fanatics, however, have shown that they are ready, willing and able to travel throughout the world to fight their jihad against America. Every one of them that is spared a glorious death in battle by a U.N. brokered surrender is a potential future terrorist suicide bomber. Those are the people who need to die in battle. Every last one of them.

There you go, using my logic again. Watch out because the Liberals are going to start calling you "bloodthirsty" like they do me. LOL

I hope our leaders are smart enough to realize this Wishful thinking I am afraid. They surrender and we feed them
through the winter, then they are fresh and fat in the spring,
ready to carry on.

The Al Qaeda foreigners need to die in battle. Every last one of them. Land of the free, home of the psychopathic.
The ideological differences between the Al Qaeda "foreigners" and the Afghani Taliban has been explained in this thread.
Would you like to explain and defend your position or are ad hominem attacks the limits of your intellectual capabilities.
To: Polybius
Thank you for the clarification. You are quite right. I was listening to something on the tv after I posted and that point was made clear...
To: ASaneGuy
All of the foreign fighters should be flown to the Kitty Hawk for military trials. Those guilty get to walk the plank. Chumming the sharks first is optional.

If we cannot kill them as they deserve, put them all together on an inhabited Pacific atoll and bring a food shipment every month. Make the area off-limits to all others.
