If John Edwards wants to appoint judges, he ought to get elected president

Oh dear God please NO.

We know this is his ultimate goal though.

The only thing to do about this is simply leave the slots open until they get around to it. As more vacancies occur, it will tie up the Federal Courts to ever increasing degrees.

Heck, this might be one way to shrink the Federal Government. How much of the Fed's work is related to court activity. If it will take years and years for cases to make it to court, there can be some adjustments in work flow so that departments with hundreds and thousands of lawyers on staff can get by with half, or a third as many.

Helms went on to block every Clinton nominee to the 4th Circuit, including several who are black.

What a crock! How many were liberals? All of them.
Helms at least stood up and announced his opposition as well as his reasons.

John Edwards looks like a combination of Bruce Jenner and Antionette Blair, the Prime Minister of England. Another Southern Liberal as President. I have enough problems already with the two Cracker liberals I have as Senators (Bob Graham and Bill Nelson, yech).

Not only will Edwards make a strong run for President, he will have the Homeland Defence Department as well as FEMA at his disposal if he wins.

"it's almost unprecedented to do so to force another nomination." Almost? Would Jesse be the exception?

"these judges would ignore the Constitution [and] approve of high taxes [...]. Aren't judges supposed to merely enforce the law?" I don't recall anything in the constitution about tax rates. Maybe you think conservative judges should just make it up and pretend it's in the Constitution?

"The WH needs to constantly remind the public that the courts are being held hostage by Democrats." How far back do you want the public's memory to go?

I guess Republicans should not try to counter the Democrats time-honored tradition of blaming Republicans for everything?

I can understand not wanting to sink to their level by accusing them of starving children and old-people....
