Geraldo In His Last Show: Clinton Is Now "Irrelevant "
CNBC | 11-18-01 | F16Fighter

Posted on 11/18/2001 6:53:44 PM PST by F16Fighter

In Geraldo Rivera's last show before he "heroicly" heads for the bright lights of the Aghanistan war theater, even he couldn't take Clinton-sychophant Tavis Smiley's ranting about the former President's "legacy", interrupting to punctuate the subject by shaking his head and saying that Clinton was "irrelevant," and even less so than former President Carter.

A "special" guest panel to share old war stories included lone Conservative, FOX's John Gibson; BET's Tavis Smiley; Alan Dershowitz and the young lawyer/commentator Abrams who's first name escapes me from CNBC.

"Highlights" included Dershowitz's claim the five Supreme Court justiced "cheated" Gore with their ruling during the Florida voting debacle; Dershowitz bragging that Clinton could have avoided the testimony that got him in trouble in the first place by a loophole had the Liar-in-Chief only listened to him; Gibson recalling and deriding Clinton's definition of what "is" is; Gibson destroying Smilley assertions that Clinton was a great President; Smiley's incessant kissing of Geraldo's @ss, and Smiley's inane assertion that anyone could have led as well as Bush during the Terrorist and War situation -- he refused to give him one iota of credit.

Subjects covered as I recall: Jon Benet Ramsey; the OJ Trial; the Bush-Gore election dynamics; The terrorism and Afganistan War...

Thankfully Gibson got his shots in and Geraldo surprisingly closed very humbly...

Thanks for the report. I watched as much as I could but it was so unbalanced with only John Gibson, as the lone voice of reason, I couldn't take it for long.

I did think that with Geraldo's show off the air, Dershbag wouldn't have a forum and then low and behold he turns up on FOX News Sunday with Tony Snow this morning. Could not believe it!

So is Geraldo (irrelevant) and always was. The guy is like the WWF, all acting no substance.

I don't watch the Sunday morning talk shows as I want to keep myself reasonably calm on Sundays. Cannot believe how many clintonites are turning up on Fox recently. If they have Dershowitz on regularly after hiring Geraldo, I will quit watching Fox period! That will be the final straw!

Two things. First, John Gibson came to the attention of FOX after beating featured nightly on Geraldo's show during the OJ fiasco. In fact, I watched Geraldo every night because of John. You could tell Geraldo trusted John to give the straight story. Second, the reason there is always a balance of 3 libs and 1 conservative is that it only requires one conservative to outwit the others.

A note. In Mark Fuhrman's book about OJ, he relates being at his lawyer's house one night when John Gibson showed up in his reporter's mode (he was with someone whose name I can't remember). He said Gibson agreed to 'off the record'. Furhman said 'to my knowledge, he never uttered one word of that conversation to anyone - a real rarity in reporters'. That made me like Gibson even more.

Thanks for the report. I tuned in and when I saw Dershositz and Smiley, I tuned out! Frankly three days of Whorealdo appearing everywhere to announce his move was more than I could stand. Only enjoyable moment was when he appeared in front of O'Reilly and was asked hard ball questions. What joy.

I'm willing to give Geraldo a chance and let him start over with a clean slate. I'm not a fan, but everybody has the right to rehabilitate themselves.

All that needs to be said - Bush is fighting terrorists, while Klinton pardoned them.

John Gibson is one of my favorites on Fox. I try not to miss his "last word" segment. The guy is a great reporter.

I watched Geraldo's goodbye show Friday (some with the help of the mute button). It's obvious he hasn't changed a bit, Clinton is still his hero, the knight on the white horse who was done wrong by the vast right wing. The only use he has for Bush is because he agrees on the war. He even spouted the dims views on the newspapers 225th recount of the Flordia vote, saying Gore actually won. Anything he reports will be suspect as far as I'm concerned. He has zero credibility as far as I'm concerned.

Geraldo can go ahead and report from the bombed out desert but I worry that when the war is over, FOX will give him a daily show--like the Paula Zahn spot. That would not be good for FOXNEWS.

I have already e-mailed "roger.ailes.@foxnews.com" to warn him that I will no longer watch FNC should he decide to lend it's forum to the likes of Alan Dershowitz, the most obnoxious man to ever obtain TV face-time.

I "tried" to watch Gerald's last show, but as soon as it was Dershowitz's turn to spew his commie vile, I turned the channel.

I couldn't help but to notice that Dershowitz looked a whole lot smaller than the others! Guess he's just another tiny man with an attitude and a big mouth!

Couldn't hang in, eh? Gibson did himself proud.

But what a crew of blowhards -- Hall Of Fame material for sure -- Geraldo himself, Dershowitz, Smiley, but where was Lanny Davis?

Sure we know Geraldo is WWF -- that's why it was funny to see "legit" people suck up to him on his "last" show.

Why Tavis Smiley, during the few seconds his faced wasn't smooshed against Rivera's @ss, even referred to Geraldo as a "journalist" -- LOL!
