MUSLIM CLERIC INSISTS 20 'SUITCASE NUKES' IN U.S.

A leading Muslim cleric Shaykh Hisham Kabbani, founder of the Islamic Supreme Council of America (ISCA), insists bin Ladens network has bought more than 20 nuclear warheads carried in suitcases.

In 1999 Kabbani first warned the U.S. State Department of bin Laden's impending terrorism.

He told the U.S. Government bin Laden was training suicide bombers in Afghanistan ready to move to any part of the world.

Kabbani said the nuclear weapons, sometimes referred to as "suitcase bombs", were sold by the Russian mafia.

There's a difference. I don't beleive he has any of this stuff. If he did, why would he be trying to build nuclear weapons? Why go to all that trouble if you have ready-made ones?

I don't know that much about suitcase nukes but a couple of things ring true here. First, I have a very nice Iranian couple that lives next door, but are convinced by the mosque leadership that the Israeli's pulled off 911. These people would do anything for you, are the nicest people in the neighborhood, and love America as much as I do, but there is no doubt that their mosque is controlled by radical Islam, slowly introducing it's poisonous ideas.

Second, I was under the impression that the Soviet design of the suitcase nuke sheilded the radiation from detection from satellites, geiger counters, etc. That was the whole point of the back pack nuke. If it doesn't, then the carrier is on a bit of a suicide mission isn't he? Just wondering.

Could be true, could be wishful thinking on the part of the sheik. My point is, if these jihadists had all the hardware that they claim to have, what precisely has kept them from placing a suitcase nuke in Tel Aviv up to this point? Wanting to "save" them for the "Great Satan"? Afraid that they would klll some of their own? Israel not being their "real enemy"? Obviously, Israel would retaliate if she were so attacked, but then again, I've got to believe that we would too. So my take is that this is more likely misinformation.

Besides, if you were a Russian Nuclear Scientist with access to Nukes, who would you feel safer selling to...Bin-Laden operatives, or US Agents? You are never going to get caught selling to US agents, and you can rest assured that they will never be used.

Shaykh Hisham Muhammad Kabbani is a scholar and Sufi shaykh from the Middle East. He graduated from the American University of Beirut in Chemistry. From there he went to Belgium, to continue his Medical Degree in Louvain. Then he received his Islamic Law Degree from Damascus. What kills the "suitcase" models fast is the tritium needed to augment such a small mass of fissionable material. Tritium decays into helium-3 with a 12-year half-life, which means that after a few months there is a significant helium-3 contamination. Helium-3 eats up the neutrons needed to start a chain reaction. No periodic replenishment with new tritium, no big boom.

I haven't read it but I'm sure it was sold to him or his conglomerate or some contact at a point in time when someone was considered to be an "ally." This perfectly illustrates the point as to why we need to stop the insanity of buddying up with one bad guy for the sake of fighting another. The former "friend" without fail comes back to nip us in the butt.

That would be some feat!

Even without shielding, a minimum Nuke would weigh close to 90 lbs. - With sufficient shielding to avoid detection, it would weigh over 175 lbs.
