Mark of the Beast on Fast Track

Bush briefly discussed the ID card option with British Prime Minister Tony Blair, according to insiders. "I can tell you this, the president is very reluctant [to issue a national ID card]," a top White House source said on Sunday. "But we must look at all options." Just as House Democratic Leader Richard Gephardt [D-MO] says Congress should quickly move to open debate on security measures such as a national ID card. "We are in a new world," Gephardt said. "This event will change the balance between freedom and security." The Clinton Administration then extracted the various pieces from the various bills, two of which were illegally passed, and assigned the task to implementing a national drivers license (a clone of the European Union national ID card) to the National Transportation Safety Board. The internal passport will go into effect on October 1, 1999. In 1996 when Congress passed the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act. certain guidelines found in Section 656 (b) of the act. Federal agencies will be required to prohibit the use of state drivers licenses beginning Oct. 1, 2000, unless they comply with the federal standards. The new licenses must use the Social Security number as the driver's license number, for example. The act also calls for digitized biometric information to be a part of each license, or "smart card." Former Secretary of Defense William Cohen said Americans will be forced to make "choices between security and civil liberties." NBC's Tom Brokaw said, "We're going to have to reconsider a lot of our freedoms because of our attack." Representive Frank D. Lucas (R-OK) said, "If we were going to be absolutely safe, we'd have to restrict people's freedoms to the point that it wouldn't be America anymore."

Thank you for posting those links which debunk the Carl Sanders legend. I must confess that the person who first gave me a tape of Carl Sanders in 1993, when I asked her a few years later if she had heard anything about him recently, said that she heard that his stuff had been largely exaggerated. I hesitated in providing the link that I did to him, but when I did a simple Google search myself, I didn't check them all out and saw something saying that he his claims had been verified. I assumed the controversy was mostly a baseless criticism spawned by jealousy.

I can see that I will probably have to find a few people here who have been taken in by his claims and set them straight.

Thanks again.

I suggest that you read post #118 regarding Carl Sanders, the man about whom I provided a link. Seems his claims have been almost totally debunked.

You may just try clicking here
http://www.fellowlaborers.com/bookstore/bullinger.htm

There must be some other place that carries it. That place appears to be tied in with Victor Paul Wierwille (of the notorious "The Way International" cult). Ish...

Don't take my word for it, Google it.

"After this all takes place ,and they still still think they haven't done enough to invade our privacy, what's next?A rectum scan?"

Only if you get "profiled" at the airport. :)

Between OBL, the shoddy maintenance the airlines seem to be noted for, the uber-rude ticket agents and "security" people, and the sardine-can seating arrangments, I've decided to give up travel by air. If I can't get there by car, I'll take the railroad. If I can't get there by train, then I'll stay home. At least my rectum will be spared the scan. :)

"Do not get to comfortable just because a Republican is in office. He is suppose to be a conservative. But considering the family, do you know who his father is."

Are you who your father is? I know I'm not who my father was, and my wife isn't who her father is. In fact, I can't think of anyone who matches their father.

Judge the man for who he is and what he does, not for who is his father. So far, he seems to be doing a pretty darn good job. Far better than his father did, in fact.

"The technology is almost here."

"Almost" is such a vague term...

Suffice it to say that the wares touted via that outfit are not what a lot of people fear they are. Worldnetdaily spooked a lot of folks by harping on this stuff, but evidently they finally realized that sales hype -- backed by vague "concept" patents (that don't describe a device -- for very good reason) is something entirely different from real world applications.

Bump for the *short* history of Dispensationalism. I thought you might find Ethan North's post at #82 to be of interest. Flag any others you think might find it helpful.

You're quite welcome. There's enough real badness out and about to stay mindful of that we don't need to get sidetracked into hucksterville. I've seen more than one church get sidetracked by "holy" pitchmen, and nearly destroyed in the process.

Someone wrote somewhere above that the rapture concept is new, within the last 150 years.  Here is an article by James G. Cammarata showing that it is a very old concept which deceived many people back in 70 A.D.

Posted at two different sites:
The Theory of the Rapture
The Theory of the Rapture

Excerpt:

Many of today's clergy preach that the Body of Christ will be removed from the Earth at the signing of the 7 year treaty the antichrist or at the mid point. These scenarios are utterly false We have provided ample scriptures to show the body of Christ will not Receive their resurrected [bodies] until the wrath of God is complete. The 24th chapter is a two-fold prophecy, part of it applying to the time of the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and the time prior to the second advent of Christ. According to Jewish Historian Flavius Josephus during the time prior to the destruction of Jerusalem there where many who listened to the instructions of the clergy instead of the Lord. Let us now read the account of the destruction of Jerusalem given to us by the historian Flavius Josephus:

"A false prophet was the occasion of these people's destruction, who had made a public proclamation  in the city that very day, that God commanded them to get up upon the temple, and that they shall receive miraculous signs of their deliverance. Now, there was then a great number of false prophets suborned by  the tyrants to impose upon the people, who denounced this to them, that they shall wait for deliverance from God; and this was in order to keep them from deserting, and that they may be buoyed up above fear and care by such hopes. Now, a man that is in adversity does easily comply with such promises; for when such a seducer makes him believe that he shall be delivered from those miseries which oppress him, then it is that the patient is full of hopes of such deliverance. Thus were the miserable people persuaded by these deceivers, and such as belied God himself; while they did not attend, nor give credit, to the signs that were so evident, and did so plainly foretell their future desolation; but, like men infatuated, without either eyes to see or minds to consider, did not regard the denunciation that God made to them. Thus there was a star resembling a sword, which stood over the city, and a comet, that continued a whole year."

We have just read a historical account of the destruction of Jerusalem, in the last days before the return of Christ such will be the condition of today's church. It is sad to say that many will follow the falsehoods taught by today's clergy, they will reject the signs of our Father and embraced the false prophets.

Today's churches are teaching the same falsehoods that were taught by the false prophets just before the destruction of Jerusalem. Those who put there hope in a pre tribulation, mid tribulation rapture will be greatly disappointed. We are told by the Apostle Paul that after he left savage wolves would attack the church with false teachings. "I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock. Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them." (Acts 20:29,30) For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (1Tim 4:3,4) Yes, today's clergy is evidence to  Paul's words almost 2000 years ago.

I don't know anything about that place. I found it in search for a link to the bookstore since the direct link didn't work.

Thanks, I've not commented here on Digital Angel, etc. Only that microchip tracking is something we've done with animals for decades. Whatever the "mark" is likely to be, it's also likely that it is technology already in place now. Similarly, the technology to control a cashless society is also in place. This world is certainly ripe for the "man of sin" to arrive on the scene. Am I predicting a date? Never. I'm just suggesting that the stage is set.

When I first came to Singapore over 2 years ago, I was rather shocked by how close Singapore is to functioning as a cashless society. This would be a very difficult place for any wanted criminal to try to hide because so many monetary transactions would leave a "trace" using a cash card or what is called a "NETS" card. That's appropos, isn't it? Like throwing a net over everyone to keep them from eluding Big Brother.

Thanks for 119. You have given me some things to ponder. I believe you are on the right track in describing how we have gotten into the mess we are in.

Sad that doctrine is a dirty word these days.

As for me...no way...no retnal scan, no thumbprint for any such ID card.

By your logic, perhaps you and many others have already taken this mark and didn't even know it. In two states that I've lived in over the past few years, both have required a thumbprint scan to receive a driver's license. Do you have a driver's license? Have you ever had anything notrized? In CA, you are required to provide your thumbprint to a notary public in addition to other pieces of proof of your indentity.

For your sake, I hope le prophet John wasn't off the 'mark when he recorded his prophesy. If so, there will be a lot of pissed people on judgement day who will be whining about being denied entry into paradise because of a thumbprint, and not because they took any kind of literal mark on the forehand or hand.

In my opinion you dismissed my answers because they do not fit your interpretation of Scripture. I will not answer any more questions.

This is not possible since the LORD will not lose a single one of His own. To suggest His child will fall for the mark and serve the Beast is ludicrous and suggests that God is not able to keep His saints to the end (regardless of when you think that end will be). See #110.

I dismissed your 'answers' because they did not answer my questions in the least. You simply restated disp/pre-mill general theology. My questions had to do with the specifics of what the Bible says.

Did you answer why the "last trumpet" of 1 Corinthians 15:52 is not really the last trumpet?

No you did not.

Did you show me where there the Bible shows a period of time between the 69th and the 70th 'seven'?

No, you simply assumed your interpretation of the 70th 'seven' and claimed the delay must be there.

Did you explain to me which of the two millennia the Bibles says John sees in Rev. 20 (the one past or the one yet to be) is the millennium where Jesus reigns on the Earth on David's throne?

No, you simply threw some guy's web page at me which explained general disp/pre-mill theology. It didn't answer the question. I looked.

You did answer Q4, but again, you assumed the pre-trib rapture.

Did you explain to me why Paul says, in 2 Thessalonians 2, that the rapture takes place after the man of sin (i.e. after the 'great tribulation')?

No, you avoided the question and tried to make some point about the word for 'falling away' and 'apostacy'. That was not an answer to my question.

Did you explain to me why the church fathers never had disp/pre-millennialism enter their minds until the 1800's?

No, you simply stated it was, that it did not have a name. You failed to show me any evidence of this in the creeds or writings of the church fathers before the 1800's. You then went in to some diatribe that had nothing to do with my question.

That I occassionally pointed out where the Bible (the actual words contained therein) contradicts your cherished dispensational theology doesn't mean that ~I~ am dismissing your answers because they did't fit my interpretation of the Bible. You failed to even answer the questions.

In Christ,

Jean
