I've been telling my students for years that horsemanship is a martial art ...
I once had a retired member of the U.S. military laugh at me
for saying so in the presence of a member of the Irish Army show jumping team...
I told a friend in the DoD in Germany, back in September that they would need horses over there..
He said they'd use Bradley's... (I'm sure they will...but..)
Thanks for this pic...
I'm going to hang it in my tack room..
Just goes to show..sometimes you have to "get Medieval on their a$$es".. literally..
Leave it to our Special Forces to do whatever works and get the job done..
Ride easy, cowboys...bless you

I'm sure the animal rights activists will have Rumsfelds hide for letting these poor jackasses be submitted to this kind of torture.

The US Horse Soldier's not dead! Just think: no need to worry about eloctro-magnetic weapons, little upkeep, eats grass, can move over almost any kind of trail or terrain, isn't too loud. However, I doubt this is what the sci-fi folks in the 50's and 60's expected our top line troops to be using come the 21st century!

I still think we need to develop a lazer guided weapon that mounts to the saddle horn for times like this.ha! And I could swear that one of those special ops looks a lot like General Custer.Maybe he's getting his revenge?

It's a strange new world since Sept. 11.
U.S. Special Forces ride horses into combat. Radio commentators say things like "...Uzbekistan, a strong ally of the United States..." as if it were a perfectly normal thing to say. B-52's fly in support of T-55 tank columns. The U.S. and Russia undertake partial nuclear disarmament without lenghthy negotiations or treatys....

Can't you see these guys, 30 years from now at the VFW, telling the techie types that they took part in the last ever Cavelry charge......

YOU gotta see this one!! What does this remind you of? I'll bet special services have some former "farmers" in their midst.

This sort of national support for and enthusiasm over our military must be a really bitter pill for the Democrat party.

An old cowboy went ridin' out
one dark and windy day
Upon a ridge he rested
as he went along his way...
