As much as I wish I still were a New Yorker, I had to leave Manhattan last fall for reasons beyond my control. For the most part, I can handle it ... between TV and radio and the Net, I can get enough of a New York fix from where I am now to keep me from dying of withdrawal. But as far as actual print newspapers go, the only paper I can get my hands on from here is the Times (ick) and only the Sunday National edition of that (ack pfht ptoo!).
Even that I can live with, usually. But not today. Today is the 200th Anniversary of the New York Post, my all-time favorite paper. And they're printing a huge special section about it in today's issue.
And I really REALLY want a copy of this issue. I have the quarter; I've been saving up. I just don't have the access.
So I was wondering ... might there be some kindhearted NYC Freeper out there willing to grab an extra copy of today's Post when they make their regular daily stop at the newsstand, and shove it in an envelope for poor little me? I'm of course willing to pay extra for your trouble, within reason (i.e., don't ask for $20). I'm not picky about which edition or anything; it doesn't have to be the Late City Final. It just has to be today's (Nov 16).
Not as good as having the good old paper in your hands, but it may help.
