I wonder how many diverse people are actually being pinged?
Jews in U.S., Israel Differ on Palestinian State
This poll was taken in 1998. Either way, it's clear that there's a large segment of both US and Israelis who support a Palestinian state.
American Jews approve of an independent Palestinian state, 68% to 19%. Israelis, by contrast, split, with 44% approving and 49% disapproving, including 34% who strongly oppose the idea. In both countries, more than two-thirds of those polled believe that a Palestinian state is likely to be created whether they like it or not.
Then what is the point of posting it?
If you want to hear the biggest lies ask around about how many Pallies are befret of their farms due to being invited out of the area by neighboring Arab countries, until the Jews were pushed into the sea, every one of them will claim to have owned land, there isn't that much land for them to be claiming. I have never heard of a people that will tell a bare faced lie, then believe it themselves, and kill you if you don't buy into it, or they will defend the lie to the death. Nut jobs.
Now that they have a mosque built over the tomb of Joseph in ten years they will claim it's been there for centuries and has only just now been rebuilt.
backing of what was then a Europenan superpower
The "White Paper" was particularly useful to the Jews.
I confess a constant curiosity: how many of you people would change your views if you had a real clue about history?
Deir Yassin: History of a Lie March 9, 1998
Introduction
For fifty years, critics of Israel have used the battle of Deir Yassin to blacken the image of the
Jewish State, alleging that Jewish fighters massacred hundreds of Arab civilians during a battle in
that Arab village near Jerusalem in 1948.
This analysis brings to light, for the first time, a number of important documents that have never
previously appeared in English, which help clarify what really happened in Deir Yassin on that
fateful day.
One is a research study conducted by a team of researchers from Bir Zeit University, an Arab
university now situated in Palestinian Authority territory, concerning the history of Deir Yassin and
the details of the battle. The researchers interviewed numerous former residents of the town and
reached startling conclusions concerning the actual number of people killed in the battle.
The second important work on this subject that has never previously appeared in English, and
which was consulted for this study, is a history of the 1948 war by Professor Uri Milstein, one of
Israel's most distinguished military historians. His 13-volume study of the 1948 war includes a
section on Deir Yassin based on detailed interviews with the participants in the battle and
previously-unknown archival documents. Professor Milstein's meticulous research has been
praised by academics from across the political spectrum.1
Another document used in this study is the protocols of a 1952 hearing, in which, for the first and
only time, Israeli judges heard eyewitness testimony from participants in the events at Deir Yassin
and issued a ruling that has important implications for understanding what happened in that battle.
This study is also based upon a unique collection of testimonies concerning the battle of Deir
Yassin, by participants and eyewitnesses, which are on file in Israel's Metzudat Ze'ev Archives
and have never before appeared in English.
The documents cited in this study were located in Israeli archives by a team of researchers and
legal scholars, with additional research in the United States by Chaviva Rosenbluth.
In most cases the views come first, history is distorted to fit. The Web's a great place, you can find something to support anything. My dog found a site last week that told him he was a cat. He's still in shock.
The following from Benny Morris (anti-Zionist himself who can't dispute the unequivocal and fundamental pan-Arab Islamic aggression), The Birth of the Palestinian Refugee Problem 1947-49 (1987) at pages, 29ff.:
"The United Nations General Assembly vote of 29 November 1947, which supported the partition of Palestine into two states, one Jewish and the other Arab, prompted Arab attacks and sniping against Jewish passers-by in the big towns, and on Jewish traffic on the roads, the following day.The AHC (Arab High Committee), which completely rejected Partition, declared a three-day general strike, beginning on 1 December, thus releasing the Arab urban masses for action. On 2 December an Arab mob, unobstructed by British security forces, stormed through the Jewish commercial center of Jerusalem, looting and burning shops and attacking Jews. Arab and Jewish snipers exchanged fire in Haifa and attacks were launched on the neighbourhoods in Tel Aviv which adjoined Jaffa and its suburbs...As in 1936, National Committees were set up in Arab towns to direct the struggle in each locality....Traffic to and from the Jewish neighbourhoods and towns was often interdicted, prompting Jewish retaliatory strikes.
In January 1948, in line with Arab League resolutions in December 1947 supporting indirect intervention, Arab volunteers (some of them ex-soldiers), spearheaded by the battalions of the Arab Liberation Army (ALA), began to move into the country. The first full-scale Arab attacks on Jewish settlements were launched with the aim of destruction and conquest-on Kfar Szol (9-10 January), Kfar Uriah (11 January) and the Ezion Bloc (14 January)....In the countryside, the Arabs gained the upper hand in their efforts to block the roads between the main Jewish population centers: the introduction by the Haganah in January-February of escorted convoys was matched in March by improved Arab tactics and increased firepower, which, in a series of major ambushes of the Khulda, Nabi Daniel and Yechiam convoys, managed to destroy most of the Yishuv's armoured truck fleet.
The defeats of March and the prospect of invasion of the emergent Jewish State by regular Arab armies prompted the Haganah's switch in April to the strategic offensive. By then, the Arab exodus from Palestine had begun. By February-March 1948, some 75,000 Arabs, mostly from the urban upper and middle classes of Jaffa, Haifa and Jerusalem, and from villages around Jerusalem and in the Coastal Plain, had fled to Arab centers to the east, such as Nazareth and Nablus, or out of the country."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you see your Arab Islamic friends started the conflict and the exodus of Arabs occurred BECAUSE of their violence in rejecting Resolution 181.
It looks pretty clear to me that they should move back to the pre 1967 borders, as it is very clear it was not a 1967 WAR, it was an attack by Israel, on innocent people, and as the UN charter states clearly, a country then has the right to defend itself.
I'd like to know that too. I noticed that even in their pro-Pal propaganda, Patria One and the like post paragraphs that indicate that the Jews BOUGHT the land... they try to make it sound ominous and insidious, but the fact is, if they bought the land, then... well... they BOUGHT the LAND! Someone was obviously selling the land, and they bought it. That's LEGAL!
