So Canada may have a socialist welfare state, so what?! Does that give you any call to go bashing them like some ignorant bigot? And our own Constitution ... is it so secure we have the right to point fingers at other countries and say "Ha ... see ... you're a socialist state?" And how well do you know your history especially WW1 and WW2, when they actually started and when the United States entered the fight?"

And before you start running your "suck" about me or anything else, I'll let you know up front ... I am an Active Duty Military man who has served 19 years. I am a strict Constitutionalist/Conservative who voted for both Reagan, Bush Sr. and Bush Jr.

You should get your facts straight before you shoot off your Miss American piehole. At no time in it's history has Canada dragged it's feet. 50,000 Canadians fought in your civil war, Canada was fighting Germans in both World wars long before you got involved, and declared war on Japan Dec.7,1941. Furthermore, we have been in the forefront in every other conflict since then, with the exception of Viet Nam. In that case Canada was on the international truce commision and had to stand fast. However, 50,000 Canadian kids joined up in the U.S to fight, many of whom did not come back. Just thought you might appreciate the difference between Canada and Mexico who as I understand it has only been at war with America.

Maybe you should check the fact that Bush gave Canada the cold shoulder when this war first came up because of their lack of support.

Bush named our allies, of which he said Britian was our closest, Canada was insulted not to be mentioned and only capitulated after that kind of pressure. It was a pretty sad statement when the call went out for allies to have our two closest neighbors that benefit from our presence, give us the snub. You must not be up on current events, eh?

Yes, I know Canada entered World War II on Sept. 10 1939. The United States entered on Dec. 7, 1941. Canada entered WW I in August, 1914, and the States in November 1917.

If you read my post, you would note that I was talking about the sad decline of Canada's military SINCE KOREA(1953). I was not casting apsersions on it's glorious history before then. Since Korea, the miltary's decline has matched Canada's slow and steep descent into the socialist abyss. The Canadian military these days, is basically at the beck and call of the United Nations for so-called "humanitarian" missions.

I like the constitution, yes, but you would have do give me a definition of "conservative". No one mistakes what the constitution stands for, yet many people mislable themselves as "conservative" these days.

You two should join forces! I'm reasonably confident that if your IQ's were added together, you might approach 3 digits.

With that great advance, it might be possible for either, or both of you, to become familiar with the outside world.

Your belligerant ignorance is a disgrace to your country, and to your parentage, if known.

This is an additional 1000 troops. There are already 6 ships and 2000 troops in the Arabian sea helping out.

This is truly funny. You must be a student of history no doubt. You do understand that Canada is 10x smaller than the US, right? So now times everything I am about to list by ten, and you get some idea to the contribution. 6 ships and 2000 seamen ALREADY in the Arabian sea, plus 1000 additional troops for ground ops. The fact that these are just being deployed is due to the simple fact that Canada was likely just asked to do so by the coalition. Should they have just dumped these troops into Afganistan without some semblance of orginization to satisfy your 'late to the party' attitude?

Canada has never been late to the party (see WWI, WWII, Desert Storm, Kosovo, etc...). Heck, they even bring the beer!

You should have done a little more research. You would have likely discovered that Canada's military was basically non-existant before entering both World Wars as well. In 1939, Canada had fewer than a dozen ships, and 5000 troops in active duty. They quickly ramped up both numbers as the conflicts continued. Currently, Canada's military is comparable to it's size at any other time in history, save for the peaks of the two great wars. And should the need arise during this conflict, Canadians would be the first to direct the necessary resources to grow their force to fight along side America and Britain. If this war widens, Canada will be there fighting on the side of good, as they always have.
