WHY DID GOD LET SEPT 11th HAPPEN?!?!?!
EMAIL ^ | unknown | unkown

Finally, The Truth on National TV...

Billy Graham's daughter was being interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her "How could God let something like this happen?" And Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.

She said "I believe that God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman that He is, I believe that He has calmly backed out.

How can we expect God to Give us His blessing and His protection if we demand that He leave us alone?"

I know there's been a lot of an email going around in regard to 9/11/01, but this really makes you think. If you don't have time, at least skim through it, but the bottom line is something to think about....

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.

Let's see, I think it started when Madeline Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body was found recently) complained she didn't want any prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then, someone said you better not read the Bible in school... the Bible that says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said, OK.

Then, Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide) and we said, an expert should know what he's talking about so we said OK.

Then, someone said teachers and principals better not discipline our children when they misbehave. And the school administrators said no faculty member in this school better touch a student when they misbehave because we don't want any bad publicity, and we surely don't want to be sued (There's big difference between disciplining and touching, beating, smacking, humiliating, kicking, etc.) And we said, OK.

Then someone said, let's let our daughters have abortions if they want, and they won't even have to tell their parents. And we said, OK.

Then some wise school board member said, since boys will be boys and they're going to do it anyway, let's give our sons all the condoms they want, so they can have all the fun they desire, and we won't have to tell their parents they got them at school. And we said, OK.

Then some of our top elected officials said it doesn't matter what we do in private as long as we do our jobs. And agreeing with them, we said it doesn't matter to me what anyone, including the President, does in private as long as I have a job and the economy is good. And then someone said let's print magazines with pictures of nude women and call it wholesome, down-to-earth appreciation for the beauty of the female body. And we said, OK.

And then someone else took that appreciation a step further and published pictures of nude children and then stepped further still by making them available on the Internet. And we said OK; they're entitled to their free speech.

And then the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. And let's record music that encourages rape, drugs, murder, suicide, and satanic themes. And we said it's just entertainment, it has no adverse effect, and nobody takes it seriously anyway, so go right ahead.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

"Dear God, Why didn't you save the little girl killed in her classroom? " Sincerely, Concerned Student... AND THE REPLY "Dear Concerned Student, I am not allowed in schools". Sincerely, God.

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.

Funny how everyone wants to go to heaven provided they do not have to believe, think, say, or do anything the Bible says.

Funny how someone can say "I believe in God" but still follow Satan who, by the way, also "believes" in God.

Funny how we are quick to judge but not to be judged.

Funny how you can send a thousand 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.

Funny how the lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene pass freely through cyberspace, but the public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Funny how someone can be so fired up for Christ on Sunday, but be an invisible Christian the rest of the week.

Are you laughing?

Funny how when you go to forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it to them. Funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.

Are you thinking?

Pass it on if you think it has merit. If not then just discard it....no one will know that you did. But, if you discard this thought process, then don't sit back and complain about what a bad shape the world is in!

Your pastor is correct. Throughout human history God has blessed those nations who have allowed their people to chose the religion of their choice. As bad as the Mongols may seemed to have been, they allowed their citizens the free will regarding religious expression. Christians were even given tax exemption along with other religions. When the Chinese allowed free religious expression during the Tang dynasty, their nation prospered.

God allows man to chose. Pro-Choice is not a modern term.

God is pro-choice. Man choses his own destiny.

Of course, God does allow many evil things to happen. Like abortion, murder, rape, genocide. The question is not "Why does God allow it?". The question is "Is it His will?". The answer to all questions of evil is of course it is not His will. But, He has given man free will of our own so that we may choose to have a relationship with Him not based on His punishing us into doing things to please Him, but based on the knowledge that He loves us and poured out the wrath of His justice upon His own Son, so we could choose to love Him without condemnation or fear of punishment. It says in the Bible that it is His kindness that leads men to repentance. Not punishment.

If God did not let this happen as some have asserted then how can he be the God of the Bible? What else happens on this earth that he has no control over? Is the free will of man greater than the power of God? The debate is not whether God let it happen or not. The debate can only be; has God caused it to happen or has it happened only as a result of the free will of man and He has chosen not to restrain that will?

If evil people have more power than God and if their will is greater than God's will then we are all in big trouble. God either caused this or he allowed this. Otherwise we may as well worship the devil as he is obviously more powerful. If God has lost control then he did not let this happen. If he is still in control then we had better look for some answers. We can start by looking at ourselves. Perhaps we are not as righteous as we think we are.

I did think about what you wrote. It's not a ridiculous article/email/whatever. GOD gave us freedom. Meaning, he didn't give us a dollar (symbolizing freedom) just to tell us how to spend it. He gave us a dollar and is letting us do whatever we want with it...but America has gotten out of control...WE AS A NATION ARE TURNING OUR BACK ON HIM!!!

I am not a biblical scholar. I only bring this to your attention because it seems apropro to the question:

According to the Gospel of Luke Chapter 13: (note particularly verse 4)

[1] And there were present, at that very time, some that told him of the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
[2] And he answering, said to them: Think you that these Galileans were sinners above all the men of Galilee, because they suffered such things?
[3] No, I say to you: but unless you shall do penance, you shall all likewise perish.
[4] Or those eighteen upon whom the tower fell in Siloe, and slew them: think you, that they also were debtors above all the men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
[5] No, I say to you; but except you do penance, you shall all likewise perish.

I recall overhearing a reference to these verses in a discussion held by Christians that focused on why God allows tragedy to befall the innocent. The answer addresses those that ask what caused such tragedy and instructs those who look for some explanation. The same is happening with America. For example, a person concluded recently in a speech at Georgetown University that Americans are paying the price for the past. It would appear from the writings above that the person giving that speech should worry first about their own conduct before passing judgement. But then again so should I.

Interesting.

I have heard it said that when you "point your finger at someone, there are three more pointing back at you."

This also works for me.

Ray, God is not some cosmic puppet-master controlling everything that goes on here on earth. He is in control of His plans and purposes, but man's sin is not able to change that.

Tell me, which God is bigger? The one Who has to manipulate all events on earth including evil ones to make His plan work, or One Who allows man to make his own decisions to follow Him and righteousness or follow satan and evil, and yet still make His plan work regardless of man's sin? God is bigger than our sin and does'nt have to kill us or punish us to keep His eternal plan on track. He controls the times and the seasons and everything will happen just as He says it will, regardless of how wicked man-kind gets. After all, He's God!!!!

You born-again types really have a way of reducing the eternal mind creator of this universe into some kind of Zeus-like God who sits on a throne and is consumed by casting disasters down upon us little people when we don't behave as we should. I don't buy it.
