"BTW, Putin is wearing his seatbelt and Bush isn't."

Maybe Putin doesn't trust Bush's driving? (Just kidding!) :-)

This is the coolest thing for President Bush to do. He's so down to earth, and I'm so proud he's our Prez! And Putin, who usually looks so grim, actually SMILES with Bush! People always seem to be so happy around GW.

One silly little note: This morning on the radio I heard someone say that since Putin would be at Bush's ranch doing the cowboy thing, perhaps we should start calling him "rootin' tootin' Putin!" :-)

This thread and the pictures make me feel so good tonight...helps take away some of the pain of 9 11.

I know what you mean AnnO.

For me it was seeing him receive a hero's welcome on the mound in the "House That Ruth Built" from a city whose people rejected him in the election, but have grown to appreciate and respect his leadership and his honesty. The attitude around here (New York) towards the President has undergone a wonderful and amazing transformation.

It is too bad the City folks didn't appreciate Rudy Giuliani until just before he is scheduled to leave. What he has done for New York City in 8 years in office is a modern miracle.

BTW, Putin is wearing his seatbelt and Bush isn't. It's TX state law!

Good try. But they're on PRIVATE property. :-)

Algore would have jeans on too, but they would be brand new with a crease down the front.

Don't forget Al Gore's strategically placed potato in front of the jeans ... as seen on his Rolling Stone cover.

Yeah. They put an "e" in "potatoes." Uh, on second thought, nevermind...

That was the second photo shoot. For the first one, the idiot had it down the back of his pants, until he re-read Naomi Woolf's memo.

they [at DU] actually put down Bush for not buttoning the top button and therefore embarassing our nation.

But x42 not keeping his pants zipped made the nation real proud ..... right?! GAG!!! Those people are really, really SICK!!!

Oh ugh! makes me wanna puke. The Bush jeans were cool....I noticed right away the frayed bottoms. Lived in, worked in!

Check out that belt Rootin Tootin Putin is sportin. Close, but let's hope "W" sets him up with the real deal......some kick a$$ boots, a nice hat and then let's Mr. Rootin Tootin spin some donuts in that pickup! Kick up some real gravel!

LOL! I didn't even notice Mrs. Putin's sweater until everyone started commenting on it, but I have to agree with you, it does look like a bunch of mice hanging off of it! Ya reckon she had been on a tour of the barn or something?

And on a horse! Over the weekend, I'd heard Putin has been taking riding lessons in preparation for this visit

I heard the same thing, then heard that Bush does not have horses but rides around the ranch on golf carts. Poor Putin, I hope they take him somewhere for horseback riding.

Putin is also fluent in German and a jet pilot, as well as a black belt in karate.

More interesting tidbits. I can believe he's a black belt. He's got a fine looking body (check out his black pullover)..looks like he works out and keeps in shape - a mutual attribute of both he and Bush.

Thanks for the enlightenment. Now there are two sources for Russian tidbits, Miss Marple and Onyx. :-)

In your opinion, do you think Pres Bush is doing right to build a "trust" relationship with Putin? I surely hope so. Had my doubts at first, because he was KGB (but then Pres Bush daddy was head of CIA) but it might be an asset.

Nice truck, for as long as they last.

I'm hoping they last a LOOOOONNNNGGGGG time! The one thing I know is that I've had mine for 6 months now,and I like it better today than I did the day I drove it home. I've never said that about anything I ever owned that wasn't a Harley.

...his political and KGB background was published...

Ditto, then I remembered that perhaps, Putin would have thought that Pres Bush's daddy was head of the CIA.

I'm thinking maybe they didn't fumigate the White House enough after the Clintons left....must be leftover critters from them.

Mrs. Bush! - Loan that woman a nicer sweater, or a jacket! A more casual look might have been nice, but at least she ain't sportin' a crusty black pantsuit!!
