Last night on the Brit Hume show on FNC, Carl Cameron spoke to Tony about the fact that there is a law on the books that allows pilots to carry guns on planes.
He said it has been on the books 20 years BUT expires on Wednesday.
Brit was as surprised as I was. Anyone know anything?

I saw that discussion also and it was my understanding that the airlines prevented pilots from arming themselves due to insurance considerations.

Check old postings to bang_list. The info is in there. IIRC, it's an "administrative" decision by the FAA; and might be subject to Presidential Directive.

If you were following the Arm the pilots threads on Freeper in September, many many articles and stories.
Specifically, DC Representative Ron Paul of TX was a leader in the discussion. Also The Chicagofarmer, KABA, GOA.
OK OK, KABA keepandbeararms.com, GOA Gunowners of America.
Have you ordered your firearm yet?
Where were you??
To: CHICAGOFARMER
I was not here in Sept. I had a family emergency and was gone with no access to a computer. Sorry.
