[history]
November 12, 2001 -- The CIA has evidence that two more hijackers, besides terror leader Mohamed Atta, met with Iraqi intelligence officials earlier this year - bolstering arguments for a Baghdad role in the attacks, it was reported yesterday.
The two other skyjackers were Atta's friends and co-conspirators, Marwan al-Shehhi and Ziad Samir Jarrah, who were believed to have been at the controls of two of the pirated jets on Sept. 11.

There has been a fierce debate in the Bush administration about whether Iraq played a role in the attacks, with a Pentagon faction pushing to extend the war on terror to Saddam Hussein's regime. I doubt the debate has been about whether Iraq was involved in the September 11 attacks on New York City and Washington, DC. That much is clear, even from the evidence in the public domain. If there is a debate, it is merely about what to do about it.

The prepositioning of aircraft, aircraft carriers, troop landing ships, etc. in the Persian Gulf says it all - these assets are merely "prepositioned" for the final removal of the Baath party in Iraq. Once again, Turkey will be happy to help, and I would imagine that Iran would allow use of their airspace for our aircraft off the coast of Pakistan.

I have wondered why noone has brought up Algeria.they are as bad as any Islamic Fundamentalist country. They are slaughtering their own citizens.

I vote Somalia next. We have a debt of honor to repay there.
When and how we do Saddam Hussein I leave to Bush. But Hussein is a definite must.

Algeria.they are as bad as any Islamic Fundamentalist country. They are slaughtering their own citizens. True, but it was my understanding that the citizens they were slaughtering were their Islamic fundamentalists.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

Hmmmm.
Reports are that the Taliban is "broken" and that Kabul may shortly fall.
And here we have the government leaking more ties between 9/11 and Iraq.
Sounds to me as if we are starting to lay the groundwork for phase II of the war on terrorism.

And here we have the government leaking more ties between 9/11 and Iraq. maybe dashole's "militarized" letter wasn't a local job, after all...
i've thought it was a feint all along. the sheeple and media bought in easily enough.

I have wondered why noone has brought up Algeria.they are as bad as any Islamic Fundamentalist country. My vote is for the Sudan. 2 million Christians and animists killed over the last 10-20 (?) years.

These reported meetings raise red flags with me. Why meet personally with someone unless there is a tangible item that needs to be exchanged between the two of you which cannot be entrusted to mail delivery services? If these folks just wanted to talk, wouldn't they use other perhaps clandestine means of communication rather than personal meetings? Why risk being seen together as has apparently happened?
The obvious answer is that the terrorist pilots were given anthrax, but it could have as easily been $$$, fake papers of some kind or even other destructive materiel which we haven't seen employed yet.
