If they collected hundreds of thousands of units and managed to put 4 out of every 5 of them to use, that's a pretty decent record.

You are right about the shelf life but I hate that they "sold" some of the blood to hospitals and pocketed the profit.

Same people that bitch about an 80% efficency rate with the Red Cross are more than willing to fork over thousands in tax dollars to a government that probably hasn't hit the 20% mark in most programs.
