White-hating radical professor acts with malice

Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales, Ph. D. Ethnic Studies 571 - Women, Class, and Race Intimidates white men

Professor Tintiangco told me and the rest of the class that I was possibly a physical threat to the class and her. She told us during class time that she had gone to her superiors to alert them. She then encouraged people in the class to say how they felt that she went to her superiors about me, the "problem" student. For the next class time, her boss, Marlon Hom came in the class before it started and sat in the corner at the rear of the room. He was not announced or introduced; it was only after I got a death threat at the next class session, that I realized who he was, because he also sat in on that class. See, I had a little meeting with Hom and Dr. Almaguer in the Ethnic Studies Dept. just before noon that day. After class, I went by Mr. Hom on my way out of the classroom, and told him that I had received a death threat before class started. It was only as that class got going that I realized that he was the man who had sat in on the class the previous time, and that he was also Mr. Hom, her boss who I had just met earlier. Of course I was mad when the professor acted with malice and slandered me the previous week, and when I was in the class knowing that I was being watched by the professor's boss, I again felt the sting of persecution. Before the death threat, I sat through two classes where the feature of discussion was me. After the death threat, I firmly told Dr. Reevis (not a part of the Ethnic Studies Dept.) that I did not want to be singled out in class again, nor did I want to sit down face to face with Tintiango to try to get things cleared up. I left my complaint with Dr. Reevis, and he told me he would speak to Tintiangco. Targeting me in class was a serious abuse of the power structure by Tintiangco. I never said any thing that would lead a reasonable person to think that I was a threat to them. I gave a different outlook on life, and the women in the class who have obviously been coddled all there lives couldn't believe that a man would actually hold his own when they spewed their hate. I was the one who from day one said some people are quick to blame others. See, on the first day everyone had to introduce themselves (in a circle, of course). This one radical told us that she was in the class because she was sick of living in a country dominated by white men. When it got to me, I did not point out the radical feminazi or what she had said, even though I was steamed; I only touched on her topic by saying people should try to live in harmony. Obsessed with blaming America and humiliating white people

I never said anything against any race in my class, and what got me in hot water was simply mentioning understanding. Of course, I also flustered some feathers when I said I didn't believe the guest lecturer's high statistics for Pilipeano women who were made to be sex slaves in some Japanese area. The guest only repeated herself and then Tintiangco firmly said that I should be quiet. I committed a blunder - I raised a question that didn't jive with the radical feminist's preconceived notions. White men, make sure if you are in her class to not dare question a woman. No, no, women are always right, and I have since come to realize that the women in ETHS 571 were probably in that class to wallow in their victimhood. Why didn't someone warn me?! Hell, why didn't they warn me in the college catalog that this university was a nihilistic, Leftist haven. I am serious, I had no idea. I heard plenty of Bolshevistic crap in my class about killing men, feeling rage against men and white people, and whining from middle class women. Tintiangco selected radical books and readings for us. There was no balance. Everything was written by outright socialists and other radicals. We read about how Republican men are some mysterious, selfish group. We got to watch movies where white people were blamed. We had to search the web in the library for sex sites or other sites where women of color were presented in a way that would make any good N.O.W. member rise up to march.   Does not meet academic standards

She probably meets SFSU's university standards, hehe, but surely her course is pretty lame. Suitable for an underground, pagan group of disgruntled women, but not a course that people should be forced into taking. It was one of the choices from the four or five ethnic studies classes that were listed as choices for the ethnic studies requirement in my major. What do you suppose the radical people of color would do if they were required to take a class about some white ethnic group? Ever notice how these ethnic studies departments on campuses are always for certain racial groups?

We got to go listen to bell hooks spew her "white supremacy" conceptions at an Associated Students event (only $5 if you were in Tintiangco's class). bell hooks is the woman best known for writing about her rage at white men and wanting to murder one. We got to talk about our feelings while in a circle most every day, we were only in groups a few times, thank God, and we wrote about our feeeeelings most weeks. Also we got a week off from class. The official reason was to have more time to work on our midterms or some assignment. But I think that might have been when Tintiangco was going on her trip to an Asian American conference in Canada. I will have to check to see if that was likely the reason behind canceling class for a week. Tintiangco made her midterm very hard. The final paper was not bad, though. You got to pick your own topic, and to dumb it all down and make us all equal, you were actually encouraged to work in groups for the final project. Making a video documentary was held up as a choice for a final project. She even showed us one that her students had made for an example. Amateur! Is not qualified to be a professor at SFSU

Tintiango sees any white man who disagrees with her agenda as her enemy. I am an open-minded person, and that can be your downfall in her class. Things would have stayed bad if I hadn't stood up for myself and complained about her. Isn't that a shame at SFSU? They constantly talk about how women, gays, and people of color are kept down, but when it comes to just treating a white, conservative man with respect and common decency, a sudden wall goes up. Shut him down! Try to get rid of him! How dare he?! Did he just point out something that I had never considered?! Get him out of here! readers' feedback on Tintiangco review

You've gotta understand something about Leftists, Leftist Academics, liberals, and/or the just plain ignorant: they not only don't welcome discussion about anything "political", they don't even want conversation. Their sacred "texts" (bell hooks,et.al) are their dogma---without this nonsense for them to use they'd have to make it all up themselves. The worst part is that many of the Academics, in an act of ultimate hypocrisy, actually live like conservatives while still propounding variations of the old Leftist shibboleths. Save yourself some time and emotional energy--steer clear of "courses" like this, they're dead ends and may be on their way out in our new political environment anyway. Life is too short.

Sounds eerily similar to the "Multiculturalism" class that Education Majors are required to take. While I was not alone in my race or gender, I was the lone voice of dissent, pointing out the hypocrisy, falsehoods and inherent reverse racism. (Many would congratulate, agree, and thank me after class, but rarely in class)

Stay strong, friend. You're on the side of Justice and Reason, here. Unfortunately in America today, that's not the popular side anymore.

What happened to you was wrong. I applaud you for your courage in confronting the enemy in its lair.

Stylistically, I have a few suggestions:

1. Less is more.
2. You don't need to say what a snake the woman is in every other sentence. Let the facts speak for themselves, and don't relentlessly hammer your conclusion. The reader will draw the necessary lesson from the facts.
3. Tell it chronologically. "I needed a few easy credits to graduate, so I signed up for such-and-such class. Little did I know the kafkaesque freak show that awaited me."
4. Try shorter paragraphs and sentences. Be Joe Friday.
5. Try to fill in some factual gaps, such as, what did the guy who sat in on the class say to you and was he at all sympathetic. What official notifications, if any, did you (or the teacher) receive from the university? The death threat is intriguing, and you don't give any details at all. How was it made, do you have any reason to suspect anyone in particular, and did you report it (you should have reported it to the cops, not just the school)? Telling details engage the readers and makes them care.
6. A little background on the school, its general social climate and this professor would provide some useful flavor.
7. Did I mention that less is more?

Again, I like that you did not cow to the pc mob in that classroom. You spoke your mind just like the others were allowed to do. Fear of an honest position is the mark of totalitarianism. The teacher sounds like a little Stalin, and any school that condones such behavior is little better. Good luck to you.

Clean up your post and send it as a letter or fax to the Dr. Laura radio show. She loves to make public the abuses of liberals in our institutes of "higher" learning.

The school will not appreciate the attention that this causes and you could find yourself in an even more uncomfortable position. But the only way to fight this sort of abuse is to expose it to the public.

"You could realize that perhaps "gender studies" or whatever might not really be your cup of tea.

Funny how so many of us want to adopt the confrontational tactics of the left, even while decrying them._________________________

So what's your next straw man, Illbay?

I feel your pain, Brother. (isn't that how we are supposed to communicate?) I went to Groovy UV (University of Vermont) for three painstaking years and was forced to enroll in a race relations course with Prof. Moustafa Diof from Senagal. My major mistake in the class was being born white and male ( and ever deciding to go to UVM), but I was fortunate enough to keep my mouth shut. I learned that my simple existance was, in itself, a racist act and that I was to begin the never ending act of stealing from myself (my time, intellect, patients, money, productivity and all other positive aspects of my being) and selflessy give them to anyone who could be considered "less fortunate" than myself.

What was surprising to me was that this line of reasoning was professed in every class I took. History , anthropology and political scence(my major at the time)professors all preached the same basic doctrines with only slight changes on the theme to make it fit in with the course, and sometimes only by a thread at that.

So what did I do? Packed it up and said F you to all of them. I stopped handing in all of my papers, many of them were definite A's (or so I tell myself), and got a job to support myself. I was not going to keep lying about my true beliefs to appease these monsters. Whether they know it or not, the socialist profs. intent is to destroy the human race through a slow drain on the producers of this world. I don't know how deeply you have thought about the true intention of your prof., but they have less to do with raising the standards of living for women and minorities, and more to do with lowering the standards of living of the white male (and any productive person of any color or sex who happens to get in their way).

It was three years ago that I failed out of UVM and I am not sure if I did the right thing, but atleast they have one less conservative in their grips who will sit with his mouth shut and put up with their deceptions anymore. Best of luck with your quest to make a change in the school that you are currently enrolled in, but I feel that your complaints will fall on deaf ears. The administration of many colleges today are the coherts of these radical profs or are cowards who pray only to be spared from the rampages of the leftist manhaters. Your only chance at making progress in this may be to bring a lawsuit foward and hope that you get a competent lawyer.

I now manage a company that installs fireplaces. Never again do I have to worry about writing a paper that I completley disagree with to get by in college. Of course, I have less strength to make the neccessary changes in society and government to create a world where justice is more important that gender, but it seems that the ground will be fertile for a more conservative environment in the near future. A couple of Osama's bombs may speed along that process, these professors can't argue as well with the reality of death.

If you ever get fed up with the proccess, you can always walk away from them. Their strength does not come from the whiny little sh%&s who suck up to their every word, but from the competent men like yourself and I, who give them the time of day to throw their tantrums. I know quitting always seems like the worst option, but any other action only gives them a platform to continue their hate. Do what you have to do and good luck in your fight.

As a graduate of that "fine" institution, I can corroborate all your comments. Thankfully I got out before the "ethnic studies" requirement came into effect. But believe me, this PC garbage is infused in every class.

I recall taking "American Literature 1900-1950" (something like that) and there being no Hemingway, no Fitzgerald, and no Faulkner anywhere on the reading list. When I asked about this, the "professor" said they were the "white male canon" and we should focus on Native American and black writers. So we read the "white man is bad" curricula all year..

My commentary on SFSU is this: I entered a democrat, I exited a staunch republican. If it weren't for that fine institution I would still be floundering around with the rest of the mindless. It was such an OBVIOUS strongarming, as far as only one opinion being valid, that I just had to go and explore the other side on my own. Thank God I did.

This was around the time of the OJ Simpson trial, and almost all my professors were praising his aquittal, talking about how if OJ had married a black woman he wouldn't have had these problems...and how the "man" was keeping him down. I kid you not.

Our graduation ceremony had as its guest speaker (I am not kidding) Danny Glover, who went on to personally thank every conceivable ethnic group for its "diversity". I mean he thanked Polynesians, and Samoans, and EVERYBODY, and then as an aside he said, "Oh and also, the *enlightened* whites." Non-"enlightened" whites need not apply to two-bit actor Danny Glover's view of paradise.

Anyway, Coastman, I would start tape recording your classes, that way you can put some real quotes into your article. Direct quotes will have more power than anecdotal info. Also can you interview other students at SFSU? I found that people always thanked me later for speaking my mind in class (of course they were silent in class...) but perhaps you could interview them anonymously?

Good luck, man. Believe me, I feel for ya.

You need to get a tape recorder to class, even if it is on the sly. Catch as much of her slander on tape as possible. That will be evidence that you can use in the court of law. It will also be useful when writing to the governer if the college is state supported. Lies do not educate, they indoctrinate.

With regard to your writing style, get your writings into smaller paragraphs. Try to stick to the facts. Make each paragraph a topic in itself. Start each paragraph with a thesis sentence, then add supporting facts. Finally, use a concluding sentence that reiterates the paragraph's thesis. This will get your point across and will keep the reader's interest.

My opinion is that the woman is delusional. She blames all here problems on everyone else. Its hard to beleive that she is a college professor, but there's plenty more like her. I had a similar experience in my short tenure in the state funded college. Wacky professors using lies to further a cause that has been otherwise lost.

Good luck.

Sue her ass off....

Exactly. I could not agree more.

This calls for what Rush Limbaugh has termed "illustrating absurdity with absurdity." It is only right for you to hammer her and her ilk with the same measures that they use against others who they hate.

Ping me when you have an update.

You didn't specify about the her comment that stirred you regarding the Filipino women used as sex slaves by the Japanese.

You may do some research on this, but I think you will find she is probably correct.

During WWII they were forced into this by the Japanese military authorities.

Today - 2001, many Filipinas, (correct terminology for women from the Philippines), are lured into 'hostess' positions in Japan.

These 'job offers' are run by the Japanese mob, (Yakusa). They take the girls passports as soon as they arrive in Japan and are helpless to escape. They are forced into very de-humanizing pornographic acts and are often physically abused and even murdered. This is a very sad situation that needs exposure to the world. Maybe that's why she is bringing it up so prominantly in her course. I can attest to this, as I lived in Japan for many years and I am married to a lady from the Philippines.

You have received some good input in this thread.

Read it, absorb it, employ it.

Learning is what education is all about, and man you have great learning potential there!
