God Bless you Rush, I love you my friend! Amen to that ... this coming from someone who, from time to time in the past, has been
critical of Rush.

Yes, I, too, was tuning the radio and came across Rush. He was chastizig Jesse Jackson, and I thought, who was this white man who could talk like that about a black man and not be removed from the radio. I am still listening after 12 years, Rush, thanks.

I agree, Rush has had a huge impact on political life and the advancement of conservatism in America and he's a political hero to many of us. Unfortunately, his success has also generated lots of enemies, some of which - I guarantee you - will soon appear on this thread. It never fails.
Those sour pusses, tinfoil-hat-types and DNC trolls aside; thanks for posting this and giving us another opportunity to express our appreciation to a great American; Rush Limbaugh.

Agreed! Rush is the only media type I listen to for opinion...the rest I just wait for those bits of facts they accidently occasionally throw out.
RUSHROOM lol wish I'd'da been there. ^5

"Rush, you may not be able to hear me, but thank GOD, I can still hear you.
You are and always will be an inspiration to hard core conservatives,
and clear thinking people of the world.
Just thought someone should say so...
God Bless you Rush, I love you my friend!"

I too am
critical of the Loveable Fuzzbal; but lemme tell you...
As a former hard-core Leftist I used to cringe seeing this guy on TV at noon while I scanned 'round during lunchtime.
But when the change came?
There was NOBODY & I mean nobody I sought-out more than this man so he could describe all the things I was seeing for the first time.
Yea I can be critical of RLimbaugh alright, but...there is no substitute for this man, IMO. He's that important.
Rush *IS* the first & lone voice of conservatism as far as I'm concerned.
Just as the duckling imprint's on the first thing it sees?
So it's been for my conservative ideology & Rush.
It's been like that for nearly 10 years now; & I am delighted whenever I hear callers to his program call in announcing their, "rebirth".
Which has been happening more than usual of late?
...& don't kid yourself; the Left's well aware of this man's awsome power & ability to awaken people by easily cutting through their bull$it, too.
Rush Limbaugh's the SocialistDemocratCommunist's worst nightmare & for that reason, & that reason alone I'll always love the man dearly.

Rush is the one who woke me up a decade ago.
And it never ceases to amaze me how so many people hear him brag on the air and think he is simply full of himself.
But those who know Rush, know that he hates talking about his own problems, and that he is teaching us all a lesson. To be confident.
It's contagious, it tweaks the libs, and I know damn well that it's a lesson that has served me very well.
This is a very heavy time in our country's history, and Rush never missed a beat. And yesterday he announced that he is totally deaf in both ears. No complaining, no whining. Just a quick statement and on to the next caller. Joking about the fact that it's nice to not be able to hear some things. This in itself is a truly amazing story that absolutely HAS to be told by someone. Rush will not do it.
I've been ripped on this forum before for being a mind numbed dittohead. But his program, years before I even knew that there was an internet, was the only other voice for me.
Keep on keeping on El Rushbo

I first heard about Rush soon after the Gulf War from an ad in the local paper: "Listen to what I think today!" "And who the Hell are you?" I thought. Then I read an article about him in which he was quoted as saying something to the effect that if you wanted to support black progress, buy a box of Wheaties with Michael Jordan on it. Had to check him out. The Kennedy updates had me hooked.
I was a Democrat then. I'm a Republican now.
Rush may never hear me, but I can hear him just fine, and that's all that matters.
Thanks, Rush!

Carlo, you are not just another 'pretty chef'. Rush changed the face of conservatism forever. He gave us a VOICE - literally we had no outlet to express our opinion in a way beyond letters to the editor, etc. It cannot be easy to be labeled the 'most dangerous man in America' and to have the President of the US (Clinton) brand you responsible for the Oklahoma City bombing.
I listen to him nearly every day. One of the things the press has always missed about Rush, is that many of us listen because Rush ECHOES our opinion, not that we parrot HIS opinion.
To: carlo3b
I can remember hearing Rush for the first time in the Winter of 1991-'92. I was a student at the University of Louisville, where a conservative chick in one of my classes told me about Limbaugh.
And then I saw C-SPAN broadcast one of Rush's shows shortly thereafter. It was amidst the '92 primaries and, at the time, Rush was actually favoring Pat Buchanan OVER the sitting president, George H.W. Bush until a rare guest showed up on Rush's program to change his mind in one Dan Quayle.
I will always let people know that Rush got me started in my Republican/conservative activism. Back THEN, he was on the cutting edge. He definitely was the innovator of talk radio. With that said, however, I now prefer to listen to other radio hosts like Michael Savage and Alex Jones. I still listen to Rush on occasion when my work schedule allows.

If Rush didn't exist, I would try to invent him.
And fail.
Rock on, Rush.

my brother claims that zogby owes his success to limbaugh. without rush, nobody would have paid much attention to his new polling techniques.
on a similar note, i wonder if rush would have been as popular if he had not had the buffoon to lampoon for 8 long, hard, terrible, arduous, torturous, value-vacuum-packed, liberal, leftist, spinful years
