Rush is the one who woke me up a decade ago.

And it never ceases to amaze me how so many people hear him brag on the air and think he is simply full of himself.

But those who know Rush, know that he hates talking about his own problems, and that he is teaching us all a lesson. To be confident.

It's contagious, it tweaks the libs, and I know damn well that it's a lesson that has served me very well.

This is a very heavy time in our country's history, and Rush never missed a beat. And yesterday he announced that he is totally deaf in both ears. No complaining, no whining. Just a quick statement and on to the next caller. Joking about the fact that it's nice to not be able to hear some things. This in itself is a truly amazing story that absolutely HAS to be told by someone. Rush will not do it.

I've been ripped on this forum before for being a mind numbed dittohead. But his program, years before I even knew that there was an internet, was the only other voice for me.

rush is part entertainment and part conservative voice. without entertainment, we would soon get bored and go to a liberal commentator -- the only kind left (no pun intended). he is full of himself probably part because he is and part because of the entertainment value.

i personally like how he uses liberal thought processes to debunk liberal arguments. eg -- recent shows on smokers dieing because of no smoking laws.

But his program, years before I even knew that there was an internet, was the only other voice for me.

A long long time ago, in the days of FTP internet chat rooms, before PPP was possible, there was a Chat Room by the name of Trailer Trash.

It wasn't totally political chat, but was joined daily by a conservative group of folks that learned to discuss their political differences in a respectful manner.

I echo your opinion of Rush.
