"No, I'm not gonna invite Senator Rodham Clinton into the White House until I can get some chairs that are at least *thiiiis* wide!"
When he was newly our president, I prayed over and over that this would be his portion:
And David behaved himself wisely in all his ways; and the LORD was with him. ... all Israel and Judah [insert "America" here] loved David, because he went out and came in before them.(1 Samuel 18:14, 16)
Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house of David; and David grew steadily stronger, but the house of Saul grew weaker continually. (2 Samuel 3:1)
Now all the people took note of it [what David had done to deny his own needs while pursuing his enemy], and it pleased them, just as everything the king did pleased the people. (2 Samuel 3:36)
God has increased His favor on our president. It is a sure sign that his heart is right toward God. And we get all the benefit of an inspired, believing head of state. "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked rule, the people mourn." (Proverbs 29:2)
