Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

Hillary! received a $1000 contribution from Abdurahman Alamoudi who is an official of the American Muslim Council. This contribution was listed with the FEC stating that Alamoudi was employed by "The American Museum Council." Hillary! says this was a "typo".

Kattracks posted the above on a FR thread about a year ago.

Often receive packages. I would love to know where the packages are from and what the contents are.

We should keep our feet on the ground here. There may be a couple hundred people up there. People get packages in the mail sometimes. They also appear to be selling books and running schools.

One of the most startling things in this article is the young teenage SENTRY. What would a peace loving village of children and adults just communing with nature and learning art appreciation need a SENTRY for?

The nonchalant way that is written makes it sound as though this is just something one sees daily, a kid with a gun guarding a "village".

I don't think it said he had a gun. Would a kid be the sentry if it was a serious security effort? It sounds more like an effort to be aware when people enter the compound. Anyone can drive in with the gates open.

Having said that, this whole thing concerns me. I have a personal interest in this. I don't know what those people are up to but I know what they COULD be up to. I hope the government is keeping very close tabs on what is happening there. However, I am not going to abandon reason and react to everything fact is if they are imminent threats. Let's keep our heads.

Here is a Terraserver image of the compound. You can step back on the scale to see a wider view. The runway is clearly visible and you can see the buildings along its length and the smaller buildings that cluster in several spots among the trees.

Here is a topographic map from Terraserver. Again, you can hit minus on the zoom control to get a wider view. Look at middle of the map where the place name "Badger" is in black. The area right above that name and between the two roads is the compound.

I don't have time to read over 400 posts. Has anyone heard an official or unofficial statement from government law enforcement, about their investigation of these Fresno area compounds? Recalling wiser times and wiser leaders, they should all be detained indefinitely, until cleared. We had little to no subversive acts, after rounding up the Japanese, following Pearl Harbor.

I am concerned about what they COULD be up to. If the official law enforcement gives all clear to situations like this, and then something DOES happen, I sense a time when people won't wait for the government to make more mistakes.

Interesting possible connection in this article:

Bin Laden had US terror cell for a decade

Passage here:

* A base in Santa Clara, California, was used from 1990 to co- ordinate communications with terrorists' cells around the world, including Bin Laden's Sudanese base. Other operatives were based in New York.

Was Fuqra acting for the Sikhs? [For those who don't know, the Sikhs were in charge of security at the Murrah building]. In its October, 1992, article, the Times of India said that Pakistani military intelligence, which supports the Sikhs, uses Fuqra for terrorist operations in the United States. U.S. government officials say there is credible evidence that Pakistan's military intelligence supports terrorist activity on behalf of Sikhs inside India. But, said one of the officials, "the state of evidence" linking Fuqra to Pakistani intelligence services is "just too murky."

Wow! I kept thinking that there couldn't be any link here because Sikhs are definitely not Muslims, but I couldn't shake the suspicion anyway. And now here it is, Muslims supporting Sikh separatists--I guess because the separatists are causing India great pain. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend?"

For people who haven't read the many AKAL threads, there is a link between AKAL and Bill Clinton via Earl Potter, attorney and Clintonista fund-raiser. Also, one of AKAL's higher ups in their herbs and healing division cured Clinton's scratchy throat. Sorry I'm too tired now to search through all the many, many long threads to find out the cite on that one and the guy's name, but it's in there.

Certainly these tenuous links of BC, AKAL, M.E. terrorists, and the OKC bombing do not PROVE his complicity in the bombing itself. Nor does the AKAL/TEG negligence prove they were complicit in the bombing itself. The fact that janet reno's DOJ later gave AKAL very lucrative contracts for very sensitive guard duties (duties formerly handled by U.S. Marshalls) certainly doesn't prove complicity in OKC or any atrocities still to come. But all these things bring up an awful lot of questions which lead to an awful lot of coincidences. The links are tenuous but many, and, like a fragile, almost invisible spider web, when the light hits them just right, you can see the intricate pattern.

Rush L. has reminded us recently of how Clinton was basically stopping people in the streets to tell them how he almost had OBL, blah, blah, blah; but we know he made no serious efforts to do so. Everybody's been commenting on how thrashed he was at his drunken speech with his normally perfect hair looking all skanky. What's the matter with him? Is it just his increasing irrelevance, or might it be a desperate fear that some of those links just might catch the light at a time when Americans are looking for blood? OTOH he was probably just xxxxfaced.

BTW, Nita, you might be interested in this other website that discusses your (and others') efforts in the AKAL threads.

Thanks for writing. I was getting attacked so bad in this thread, I did not know what to expect. I enjoyed your posting, it included information that I was not aware of.
Coincidentally, one of the convicted bombers in the FIRST WTC ATTACK had scammed a federal tax exempt ticket to teach crap muslimism too.
and I do apreciate your labeling it "crap muslimism", for that is truly what it is.

Looking at National Geographic map from May 1966, Dunlap is 40 miles East of Fresno. Miramonte appears to be about 5 miles S/E from Dunlap. It is very close to the Sequoia National Park area.

Just inside the compound's front gate are about eight trailer homes. There is also an office serving as headquarters for a U-Haul truck rental business run by the Muslim villagers.(anyone want to follow that trail??)

Do we have a street address for this Village somewhere?

50300 Highway 245
Miramonte, CA 93641

Not that it means that much. This is a rural address. Look at the map in post #423 for the location.

The post office that was in Badger, which was smaller than my garage, was closed. So they use the post office in Miramonte. That's why it says Miramonte on their address. It is really in Badger.
