Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno?

.Why is there an Islamic Village in the foothills near Fresno? There's an airstrip and neighbors complain of gunfire. Kevin Quinn takes you inside Baladullah, California.

Sorry, no transcript as of now. Video only. Worth the effort to view.

The video provides a look at this compound in the foothills above Fresno, CA. Pre 9-11, a Fresn County Sheriffs deputy was killed by a member of this peaceful Islamic community. The suspect (in the beginning trial phase still) broke into a empty nearby foothill home, when deputies arrived this guy was lying in the hallway floor with a rifle, and killed one deputy. This video is the first investigative reporting we have had on this Islamic community. The trail leads to FUQRA, a known terrorist group operating all over the world, and have several communities such as this one all over the USA.

Here is an excerpt from an article of the Sacramento Bee...

California links of terrorists probed:
Federal and state investigators try to unearth 'sleeper' agents.
By Sam Stanton and Andy Furillo
Bee Staff Writers

(Published Sept. 30, 2001)

The compound Beyond seeking out ties to bin Laden-linked terrorist networks, officials are keeping tabs on another Islamic group near Fresno because of the recent killing of a sheriff's deputy in an area home, apparently stemming from a botched burglary.(this was no burglary according to all accounts)

There is no evidence that the Fresno group has been involved in any terrorist activities, officials say.

The group, according to a federal source, is part of Fuqra, an organization whose name means "poverty" in Arabic and which has had compounds in several U.S. areas.

Some Fuqra members in other areas have been implicated in past years in domestic terrorist attacks, and the State Department has labeled the group, known formally as Jamaat ul-Fuqra, as "an Islamic sect that seeks to purify Islam through violence."

The group south of Fresno operates an 1,800-acre compound called the International Quranic Open University, which sits on the former site of the drug addiction recovery cult Synanon.

The compound, a series of mobile homes shaded by trees, also serves as a U-Haul rentals location. A resident there last week refused to talk to a reporter, referring inquiries to a Visalia attorney who did not respond to a message seeking information.

Authorities have been studying the compound since the Aug. 21 slaying of Fresno County Sheriff's Deputy Erik Telen. Officials charged 20-year-old Ramadan Abdur-Rauf Abdullah with murder in the killing, apparently stemming from a botched burglary at a rural home.

James Oppliger, Fresno County's chief deputy district attorney, said the suspect claimed he had been living at the compound seeking psychiatric treatment from the Quranic university.

Oppliger said he since has begun studying the group and its possible connections to other organizations.

(Zavia Books) is the bookstore for this Islamic compound. It is called Koranic Open University. Note the books being sold. One of them is prefaced by ( Sheik Mubarik Ali Shah Jilani [Gilani]) a known terrorist. The trail leads from Baladullah (actually Miramonte, CA) to Pakistan, where Sheik Gilani lives. He is the head of Fuqra.

Thanks for your original post on this incredible situation. Your latest, #280 is another great find for you!

We need our Freepers in Cali to ferret out the schools/terrorist training camps in Oakland, Sunnyvale, Pamona, and ?!

Thanks for your original heads up and great followup!

So this Islamic group with connections to Islamic terrorists operated right in Condidit's back yard and of course in Gray Davis's state.

Makes me wonder if Chandra knew something extremely dangerous to know, i.e. 911. I know it's way out there, but what seemed to be way out there a while back is staring us in the face right now.

Scary sh*t, indeed!

Before you rant too much about Kali, what state do you live in?

Then are you sure this group is not running a training camp or worse in your neighborhood or state?

This is not just a Kali problem. In fact it has been ferreted out first in Kali!

When we finish ferreting out these Islamic fanatics here in America, we find out that they are in many states and have been operating for years in the open!

Your post is interesting and I'd like to add a few thoughts as well:

WHY do we (some of us) seem to believe the feds AREN'T already working on this cult?? How do we know they haven't already installed "plants" in this commune and are getting serious intel already? We aren't privy to gov. intel and we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes. Remember, Bush is in charge now - not that bulbous nosed bubba boob!

IMHO, they will take these people down. When they're ready. Maybe a coordinated effort at just the right time - all over the U.S. We don't need cowboys rushing the place and possibly suffering tragic losses. Let's be prudent! Keep up the research but lay low and watch as well informed spectators!

BTTT

See replies #226 and #256 from Judy1938 and Nita Nupress Thanks to you both for the info. Please give any theories you may have on how/why Fuqra may have had members in on the OKC bombing.

There are numerous witnesses that saw McVeigh with a black man in OKC the day before and the day of the OKC bombing There were three Pakistanis arrested in OKC from Brooklyn NY that were seen with McVeigh moments before the blast. At least one of the Pakistanis was a suspect in the 1993 WTC bombing. I wonder if the black man and Pakistanis seen with McVeigh could have been Fuqra members? But need more ideas from Freepers to track this down any further.

I also know there was a black Muslim sect(?) in OKC that had connections to the Elohim City compound implicated with McVeigh in the OKC bombings. But I do not know if the sect was connected to Fuqra.

Also there is a typo in reply #291 should refer to Nita's reply #252 rather than #256.

Up in Visalia? - - There is no "up" in Visalia, it is flat as a pancake, but the Orange, and Avocado trees smell kind of nice anyway :-)

"Before you rant too much about Kali, what state do you live in?"

I live in the State of Nevada, and we are much more conservative than the State of Kali! What do I base this on .... uhhhhhhhhh ... lemmesee ... 5 years of being stationed in San Diego, and 4 1/2 years of being stationed at Lemoore NAS.

Do I think there are camps here in Nevada? I can't say for sure, but probably not. At any rate, it is Kalifornia's leftist liberal views, which seem to be a prominent feature of the state, which has drawn my ire. Now IF Gov. Gray "No Spine" Davis had any "sack" at all, he would let an appointed militia of posse go in and take out this camp. But he is too busy wanting to appease the liberal huggy-feely earth muffins who inhabit Berkely and San Diego, plus the rest of his DemocRATic constituency to take the right steps that are needed to combat this menace.

You make very good points. And we come to the same conclusion from different directions: I suggest people don't take action because I'm afraid they'll get shot and you suggest people don't take action because the Feds may already be taking action behind the scenes.

However, I would like to comment on the thrust of your post.

You say "we have no idea what's going on behind the scenes" but that's not exactly true. We can make reasonable guesses based on past history of domestic terrorist groups & cults and the Fed's response to them.

1) Almost certainly you are right about plants. I don't believe there has EVER been an active, large scale group that didn't have intelligence agents/double-agents within it.

2) But is that good news or bad news? Certainly we can't forget about OKC! I'm not an expert on that case, but I believe I've seen here and even on mainstream outlets like CNN that at least one woman has come forward saying she was an FBI contact and that she warned her "handler" that OKC was in the works prior to the attack. And the Feds did nothing.

3) These "Islamic villages" seem to be a large scale endeavor. Like any large scale effort, we can look at history and guess that there are agents/double-agents within the groups. If so, then HOW DID 911/WTC take the Feds by "surprise?" Did none of the people in this group have advance warning?

Since it looks like the Government is running up against legal roadblocks in paying too much attention to people due to religious or national origin (profiling), the citizens must be the eyes and ears to establish reasonable cause for government agencies to investigate these Islamic extremist groups.

I know that there are many technically savvy people out there who can keep an ear to the ground, and monitor the activities of groups in their own neighborhood. This info can be passed on to FBI if it is domestic activity, and to CIA if international in nature.

I really believe that was what GWB was telling us last night; to be vigilant and help the US, without going over the edge and criminalizing all middle-easterners and muslims. Our job is to be observant and vigilant agents for our country, and not to take physical action at this time. We are also to build unity where we can, and show the true American spirit.

In this light, we should also know where the "friendlies" are. What muslim organizations are among us as allies for good and truth? This is as important as knowing which ones are against us.
