helping out YOUR economy.

Definitely not mine. I live near the border and the economy here is about the worst of anywhere in the US. Wages were dropping when they were rising in other places, there's a 38% high school drop-out rate. The unemployment rate is 2-3 times higher than the rest of the US, and yet property taxes are sky high and climbing. One thing though which is very nice, the violent crime rate is actually very low.

The Confederate flag isn't the same as the Mexican flag. Flags of foreign countries should not be flown on US soil, I also would think it very inappropriate for Americans living in Mexico to fly the US flag there.

well, that's el paso.

that does not deny the point i made about the f150 purchased on credit--it provides other americans jobs. jobs in detroit. jobs in the credit dept at a car seller. jobs selling cars. etc.

Gee, isn't that funny? We would prefer that they "live in their own country" too!

i really don't understand the hate on this thread and others on free republic.

hate has nothing to do with conservatism.

mexicans are here to stay. get used to it.

the time to have done something about immigration was in the 1960s. then you should have had 3, 4, or 5 kids like the whites of post-ww2 had. if the baby boomers and generations following had had more children, immigration would not have happened.

it's too late to cry about spilt milk now. it just reaks of racism.

Then why is the border such an economic disaster? With one out of three families on welfare of some kind? About half with no health insurance? You said that Mexicans help the economy here, if that were the case the border area should be the best off economically but it's far from it, also Mexico itself doesn't have a good economy. I don't think a people that doesn't believe much in education can contribute too much to an economy, because they'll need more services provided to them than they can afford to pay. You can find areas with no Mexicans that have good economies. There might be other arguments for having some immigration but helping the economy isn't a good argument.

We need more children who will have middle class jobs, just having many children born into poverty doesn't make for a strong country or Mexico would be strong. Here we have 12 year olds having babies, many kids in high school drop their own children off at Headstart or the Pre-K on their way to school. Lack of English skills will limit their ability to support themselves in a job, and many people seem happy to live in the Projects forever. Middle class Mexicans don't have any more children than middle class Americans do so we're only losing and headed to third world conditions on the US side of the border.

Mexico should be inviting Americans into Mexico, to change that country to the American way, they should allow US citizens to own land and build factories, instead of Mexicanizing the US, they should be Americanizing Mexico since the Mexicans don't want to live in Mexico anyway but prefer this country, we should just take that country over. In that war we had with Mexico, we only took half, but it looks like the people would have been better off if we had kept going and taken all of Mexico, then they wouldn't have to leave home to be in the US.

Full of hate? How typically liberal minded you are hurling that lame accusation when you can't argue facts or the truth. I say your full of hate that you would inflict this kind of damage on your own country and fellow citizens, and that you would risk our very existance. I would say you are full of hate because you can't defend your position without hurling PC speak about how hateful everyone is that doesn't agree with you, now THAT is hate.

Don't worry they'll be back and bring all their relatives along with them. America will never have border patrols that amount to a dang. Once we fight and pay for the war on terroism, Mexico will continue its invasion of the US unbated.

What's with the hatred for Mexican immigrants by Christian conservatives? I don't get it. It doesn't seem very Christian to me.

These are people who just want to improve the lives of themselves and their families. I'm sure if some of you were in the same position you'd want to do the same.

What we should be focusing on is getting rid of the "free money" handouts. America should be the land of opportunity for those who want to work.

"We're such chumps that the whole world knows how easy it is to scam free money from us. Our government has been very irresponsible to the taxpayers, it takes 2 jobs per family to afford the taxes and they turn around and waste our money on an INS that did nothing and easy benefits for any foreigner who asked."

I totally agree with this. But you can hardly blame a poor Mexican for takeing advantage of it. Let's stop the hand outs.

I don't hate them, but the ones who pretend to love Mexico should stay there and build up the country they pretend to love. If they love the US, that is something different, but there are too many refusing to learn the language of the US and flying their Mexican flags, those are the ones who need to be sent home even if they are depending on welfare money from American taxpayers and living in the housing projects.
