I don't say that Bloomberg will be worse for NYC than Green. I'd just say, don't waste your breath celebrating the fact that the next leftist mayor is a Republican.

There are things much more worth celebrating, even in Gotham.

Sometimes, in fact, often, politics is not only a game but a contact sport, best played by a team. Jeffords was a part of the "team" until he left--which meant that a liberal Republican was better than an "honest" independent because it kept OUR GUYS in management (even as weak as they were, at least those were OUR Committee Chairmen).

At the end of the season, fair or not, it's a matter of win's versus losses--and I'll take this as a win on an otherwise double-loss night, the year anniversary of a big race we almost lost.

I'm getting old--I'll take my win's, my joys, where I can find them and be grateful instead of critical.

"With apologies (nothing personal or ad hominem) that is stupid thinking. If Che Guevarra came back to life and ran in the GOP, would you support him? "

Guevarra wouldnt get the "R" ticket...

NYC politics are different from any other politics on the face of the earth... Enjoy a "R" "V" while you can!!!!!

Hey! I'm satisfied with a bite of the apple. Plus this was another blow for Her Heinous. Many times these RINO's move quite a bit to the right once they're elected. They deal all the time with the Republican Party, fellow Republican mayors and governors from around the country as well as the President himself. Sometimes, something rubs off. Plus, there's nothing like a few intimate dinners at the White House with Pres. Bush turning on the charm. There would be NO chance for ANYTHING with Green. We may at some point see a little love in Bloomie.

Anybody who feels Mark Green's pain should call up his campaign office: (646) 452-1660.

Ask for "Mayor Green" on the answering machine -- and then start chuckling, and belly-laughing, and chortling and snickering.

The whiny little rat-faced weed and his simpering crew of self-righteous simpletons will cherish those messages when they arrive to clean out their desks tomorrow.

Fellow New Yorkers, rejoice! With luck, our property values may have just been saved.

No, but watching Warner in Virginia, he struck me as another Slick Willy and Kennedy wannabe. Anybody else have that impression?

He looks like Bobby.

No way. If you want to stretch a point, possibly his son Joseph Kennedy, but not a bit like Bobby.

OH NO!!! I just saw Nadler on Fox News

Why is he there? Is there a free buffet afterwards?

Nah, they probably just were short 6 squad cars to block off the streets.

Yes, its very therapeutic.

So, too is the Public Advocate's office, where Green idles away the day at $220,000 a year.

The number is (212) 669-7200

George Will said that Bloomberg is a liberal democrat. He just thought it would be easier to win the primary on the Republican ticket.

Actually Mike Bloomberg himself has stated that he switched parties because there was too much competition on the democrat side. He hasn't tried to hide that, so George Will, as much as I like the guy, wasn't revealing anything hidden. I like Bloomberg and here's why.... He seems straight forward and no nonsense, since he spent his own money on this election he isn't 'beholding' to any special interests and being the businessman he is, I figure he is not as anti-corporation, anti-profit as most liberal democrats. As a result he probably truly understands how the economy REALLY works rather than how liberals tend to try to "make it work". In addition, with that experience he may be just the person to convince big business to locate in NYC.

He may be a democrat at heart, but I don't know how liberal. Heck, Rudy is socially liberal which I don't appreciate at all, but he was still an excellent mayor, before 9/11 not to mention afterwards!

One P.S. here.....I do NOT have confirmation so this may not be true....but my source is involved in NYC politics (city council) and he said Bloomberg may possibly be taking this job w/o pay, saying he doesn't need the salary. Anyone else heard such a thing? And if so, can he do that to save the city money?
