Any word on turnout in Northern VA or do most of those people vote after work? Turnout was very light this morning in Sterling; only 2 people ahead of me in line to vote. Many people are still stuck in traffic when the polls close at 7 PM.

I hope the same is true in New Jersey. If so, then we have a chance of shutting Terry up tomorrow.

Speaking of unions, the public schools here are closed today in order for the members of the teachers' union to work and vote for their candidate. Are you kidding me? Where is this? Someone should sue the ass off the teachers union. There's plenty of time for them to vote after work like everyone else.

Fairfax County. They call it a teacher work day, but I think the real reason is obvious. People like Dave Dilegge and myself have to use vacation days when we take off to work the polls. I'm going in at 3:15.

"I voted Earley this morning..." Me, too...and I was pleasantly surprised as well at the busy parking lot in my VERY REPUBLICAN voting precinct considering it was just after 6:30 am!! The pro-Earley poll workers were in high spirits and we high-fived on the way out...I taunted the pro-Warner lady fer a bit, then headed into the office.
Been making calls and sending emails to my RightWing friends since then...I SENSE AN EARLEY WIN!! And it'll be the grass roots that make it happen!! SCREW the EFFETE ELITE Leftist DemonRATS!!

Go Go Go Va Freepers put Mark Early in the governor's house and for those of you who have already voted and may have taken the day off call your local GOP Headquaters and see if people in your areas need rides to the pools!!! From what I have hear in NJ(Via Ch 8's 101.5 FM) that turnout is questionable which favors Schundler. I have no update from NYC but with Clinton out there it may put Bloomberg in office.

I thought the schools were closed to facilitate voting. If the parking lot is full with student and teacher autos, we would have to park many blocks away to vote.

Come on guys. The schools are closed because most of them are polling places and it doesn't make much sense to open some elementary schools and not others.
The libs have lots of ways of unethically affecting an election, but this isn't one of them.
Out at 6am this morning to vote Earley! One piece of good news - I saw someone hand back the sample ballot to the Warner rep saying "Warner is the democrat???". I think having the "R" and "D" placed next to the candidates names helps us a lot more than we think in this election.

Good for you Mud and I am rooting for my brother and sister across the river to turnout and put Early in office.

But I have no doubt that the Democrats will win both governorships. I will be the most surprised man in TX if I am delightfully proved to be wrong tonight. I expect the networks to call both races within 15 minutes of the closing of the polls.I really, really doubt a quick call in Virginia. As has been discussed before, Virginia GOP candidates consistently outperform their poll numbers. I'm hoping that there's a decision before the 11:00 News, but I won't be surprised if there isn't a decision by then. Weather is clear, so my prediction of an Earley victory by less than 1% stands. My "margin of error" (personally judged, of course) is probably 3%. So I'll also give my prediction uncertainty range:
Max bad: Warner 52%, Earley 48% Max good: Earley 54%, Warner 46%.
Speaking of the weather, the lack of rain here in the mid-Atlantic is putting us on track for a drought watch for December. So not only will the new Virginia governor have to be concerned about shrinking revenues, he'll have to be concerned about shrinking rivers.

OK, OK, so you won't let me be suspicious of the teachers' union. I voted in the past with the school open and it wasn't a problem. Only a handful of voter-related cars at a time. And you're exactly right about the (R) designation this time on the ballot. It took a Republican legislature and governor to get that little bit of information to the public. I'm hoping all those confused about Warner's public facade will notice.

Light turnout this AM at my precinct in the commie-lib Fan district of Richmond - but it usually gets heavier later in the day. Can't wait to move next year to more Pubbie-friendly environs!
Go Earley Go!

I heard you on Michael Graham yesterday rooting for the good guys. Thanks for your help from across the Potomac. He's talking about the Virginia race again today.
