The fact that somebody posted the article here, and most people here are not familiar with the other web site and what they do there, is not the fault of the author... or of the World Future Society.

There are people on this thread calling for "releasing the hounds" and "Freeping their site" and talking about having the perpetrators arrested. It's a though experiment fer Crissakes.

The people for whom this piece was intended know exactly how to take it. If out-of-context it looks like a "hoax" or an attempt to "incite mass hysteria," that's too bad. Neither the author nor the publishers intended for it to be posted here, or to any other site but their own.

Looks to me like we have a sleeper among our FReepers!! The objective of terrorism is to instill fear in any way possible and this article creates a very frightful scenario -- provided it were true. While I believe the article to be total BS, that does not mean that bin Looney and his lemmings would not attempt everything mentioned if they had the means. That is why we all should remain alert while going about our normal lives ... and not loose sleep over some terrorist's doomsday dreams!!!

I believe, if not mistaken, that smallpox can only be spread when the diesease is in it's zenith. The guy in the suit he talks about would look sick and be spewing and falling down by the time it was spreadable.

I believe that from the time of exposure, one is able to spread smallpox to others for a good two weeks before one starts having any symptoms of smallpox.
