This is our very own Mr.B.goes.to.Washington...champion of the Second Amendment, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution!

I've been having enormous trouble with my non-web e-mail connections, so unfortunately, I did not see this e-mail before today, even though it was originally distributed on November 1. So blame me if you want to complain about the delayed announcement.

But RATHER THAN COMPLAINING...how about if we do a contribution push?

If we got 100 FReepers to contribute $10, by golly...that's all it would take for the filing fees...and if you can donate more, we can get this campaign rolling right out of the starting gate!

California...we have a splendid opportunity to put a TRUE-BLUE CONSERVATIVE PRO-CONSTITUTION REPUBLICAN in our State Assembly!! Deadline for fees and filing is Wednesday, November 7, 2001, 5:00 p.m. PayPal takes a couple of days to reflect donations, so if you're doing it by PayPal, CONTRIBUTE TODAY, PLEASE! (Tomorrow latest!)

If you wish to contribute by personal check / money order, please send out your contributions TOMORROW!

Let's put our money where our mouths are...we've been saying we want a FReeper in office...let's pony up and DO IT for Mr. B.!!

NON-CALIFORNIA FREEPERS...I urge you as well to contribute. Your help with promoting a REAL CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN for office in California will mean so much to me and other California FReepers. We need your help, and your contributions will be so very much appreciated!

NOTE TO MODERATORS: The phone / fax numbers in this post are NOT personal information, but campaign contact information which Mr. B. wishes to be made public.

Also, I've designated this as "Breaking News" and hope you will understand why...a FReeper is running for office! Many thanks for your forbearance!

I just received Kenny Kramer's invite to his "Victory Party" in NYC - so I WILL donate to the underdog - but, why doesn't Mr. B have his filing fee by now.
I'm simply seeking more information on this potential candidate - why isn't the local conservative organization taking care of this guy if he's a worthy person? (Trying to understand the problem out there.) Good luck, Mr. B.

I'll make a donation if you can raise the filing fee. If he doesn't have enough support locally even to raise the filing fee, he can't have much chance in an election. Not dissing him or his chances but you have to be practical. You and he both need some indication of local financial support and especially people committed enough to actually work to elect him. Raising a filing fee doesn't mean much if you don't have those other things.

Look to your locals and good luck. Let me know if he makes the filing fee and I'll make a modest Paypal contribution. You really should get a basic position paper out with a website before you ask people to donate.

What are the demographics of this area? IE; How GOP is it? How dem is it? (I figure it's a dem leaning area since no GOP candidate is going for it.).

Since I'm assuming it's a dem leaning area, what KIND of dems are there in the area? Is it a Hispanic or Black area? Jewish? Blue collar whites that are socially conservative but union(Dingell and Bonior voters)? Fiscal conservative, social liberal(Rioridan types).

I have to know a few things before I jump in.

Mr.B.'s stand on issues:

WHAT JOHN BRANTUK HAS TO SAY ABOUT...

The Second Amendment: "I believe in the unqualified right of citizens to keep and bear arms without the intrusive hand of government."

Right to Life: "I believe that the pre-born child is a human being, deserving the full protection of the law."

Taxes: "The federal tax system is abusive to the American people while discouraging investment and growth. I believe in growth-oriented tax policies which would gradually eliminate punitive income taxes and move our tax system in the direction of use taxes and sales taxes only."

National Defense: "I believe in a strong and consistent national defense. I believe in victory over, and not accommodation of, tyranny in any form or philosophy."

National Sovereignty: "I believe in an 'America First' program in which government's first concern is the general welfare and protection of the American people."

Decentralized Government: "I believe in the power of the individual over the power of the state. I believe that only small government truly serves the needs of the people."

Family: "I believe that the traditional American family, defined as any persons related by blood, marriage of a man and a woman, and/or adoption, is the cornerstone of American society, and the government is duty-bound to protect the integrity of the family unit through legislation and taxation policies."

Affirmative Action: "I believe in equal oportunity for every citizen of the United States. That cannot be accomplished artificially through the use of quotas or set-asides."

Interventionism: "The United States should only get involved outside of our own borders when it is truly in our own national interests, and we must have a clear purpose, a plan to accomplish the purpose, and a clear exit strategy."

The United Nations: "The United States should relinquish its membership in the United Nations and instruct them to find new quarters someplace else."

Victims' Rights: "I believe in the concept of victims' rights over the rights of any criminal. I support a system of restitution as a deterrent to crime and recidivism."

Hate Crimes: "I believe you should be prosecuted for the harm you do to others, not for what you own, not for what you think, not for what you believe, not for what you smoke, and not for what you drink."

Immigration: "Illegal immigration is just that - illegal. I believe we need to take a good, close, hard look at current immigration plicies. During the current Administration, we have opened the floodgates without giving the necessary time to those who have already immigrated to assimilate. We need to tighten our borders in order to promote the 'melting pot' phenomenon over Balkanization. I am 100% against amnesty for illegal immigrants currently residing here. Legal immigration is good for our country, but we need to have a wise policy on how many new people to allow per year in order to better affect assimilation."
