Blitzed ... huge columns of smoke tower above Taliban positions Taliban are buried alive From JOHN ASKILL in Afghanistan A TALIBAN survivor told yesterday how an entire unit was buried alive in a carpet-bombing strike by B-52s. Terrified Osman Rakhim, 23, revealed the shattering explosions caused by the giant US bombers started a landslide on his mountainside position. And he confessed: “I thought I was going to die — the earth was raining from the skies.” Dozens of troops were killed when hundreds of tons of earth and rock came avalanching down on top of them. Rakhim, who wandered away from the carnage in a daze and later surrendered, heard screams for help as a whole unit of fighters dug in behind him were buried. No escape ... explosions on a mountain during bombing Rakhim said: “I could not see, I couldn’t breathe. Everything was in darkness. “There were many, many bombs. The earth shook and it rained rocks and shrapnel. “The hillside was falling on us. There were about 300 of us there dug in with sandbags. I have no idea how many were killed.

Now he knows how those people at the WTC felt. Counting to 5,000+ for Afghans.

The thing that gets me though is how this guy - Osama Bin Laden is still alive??? He just released another one of his videos last night.

We are undoubtedly winning the military war, but unfortunately, it appears we are losing the propaganda war, which is just as important. The problem is that most Islamic countries don't have a free press. While we probably shouldn't suspend bombing during Ramadan, giving the Taliban opportunity to regroup, we may have to in order to avoid further eroding our already fragile coalition with Pakistan and the other Muslim countries. It's going to be a tough call either way. Unlike some, I don't feel this is going to another Vietnam.

Those fuel-air bombs are pretty cool. I hope we use plenty of those on the enemy.

I also enjoyed the article further down on the same page.

Brit deserts enemy

A BRITISH Muslim who went to Afghanistan to fight with the Taliban has deserted after just one brief taste of battle.

Mechanic Abu Mindar, 26, from London, is now safely in Pakistan after nearly being shot dead in a skirmish with the Northern Alliance.

He would like to return to his wife and family in the East End, but fears he could be arrested for treason.

Mindar said: "Maybe I was naive but I was told there would be proper training.

"I thought I would be joining an organised military unit — but it was chaos. They are liars and lunatics."

Yasir Khan, 24, from Crawley, West Sussex, and three pals from Luton, have already been killed by a US rocket near Kabul.

Another Brit, a 21-year-old calling himself Abdul from Dagenham, is in Afghanistan where he boasts he will kill British soldiers.

Mindar decided to jet out to Karachi, Pakistan, after a British Islamic Group meeting in London. He was then driven to Afghanistan and early this week was taken to the front line.

Mindar went on: “We were driven for miles to what looked like the middle of nowhere.

“A commander handed me a Kalashnikov and gestured for me to fire at an enemy I couldn’t see because of a cloud of dust.

“There were other Taliban around and suddenly everyone started firing. I wasn’t used to handling a gun and the ricochet nearly tore the gun from my grasp. The fire arced up in the air, took off the top of a tree and nearly decapitated the others.

“The other side were firing and there was nowhere to take cover. Everyone was shouting, some got shot. I didn’t know what to do.”

During a 20-minute firefight three Taliban were wounded.

Mindar added: “Some of the others were shouting victory slogans but we hadn’t done anything except get ourselves shot.

“It wasn’t the danger I minded, I expected shooting. It was the recklessness of the Taliban and the complete disregard that they had for those who were fighting for them.”

OK, if they die they get seven virgins right? What do they do on the second night?

They get 70 virgins, which is good for maybe two months if they stretch it out. After that they realize that satan makes cheap promises and they are now in hell for eternity.

If somebody could get the "mainstream" American media to grasp that fundamental truth, our chances of being the sole survivors would be greatly improved. --- hauerf

I'm not convinced that the problem is mainstream media's "failure to grasp that fundamental truth". I think it might be that they disagree with us on who should be the ultimate winner. Certainly they put political correctness and ethnic diversity far far above the survival of the United States. Survival of the USA... I doubt if it's even makes the top 10 list of priorities for the average scumbag CNN reporter. Certainly doesn't figure on Christianne the War Whore's list at all.

Great pictures. We need to just keep doing this so the word can spread that the Americans have thunderous weapons and they can blow up the caves!

I don't want him to relate.

I want him dead.

He has an unearned reprieve for having survived and then quit and cannot now be hunted down and executed for having been an idiot.

Forgive me but I couldn't help but find some humor in the second story here about the Brit who went to fight with the Taliban and now wants to go back to his wife and children in England. That's also a story that should be told over and over..
