Kabul, Nov 3
"I thought I was going to die the earth was raining from the skies," a Taliban survivor told the Sun while describing how an entire unit was buried alive in a strike by US B-52s.
Osman Rakhim, 23, said the explosions caused by the giant US bombers started a landslide on his mountainside position.
He said dozens of troops were killed when hundreds of tons of earth and rock came down on top of them.
Rakhim wandered away from the carnage in a daze and later surrendered to the Northern Alliance. He said a whole unit of fighters dug in behind him were buried.
Rakhim told the Sun: I could not see, I couldnt breathe. Everything was in darkness ... There were many, many bombs. The earth shook and it rained rocks and shrapnel.
The hillside was falling on us. There were about 300 of us there dug in with sandbags. I have no idea how many were killed.

Hmmm- 300 fighters killed? I say we kill 1000 "holy warriors" for every civilian killed at the WTC and the pentagon. Agreed. I especially like the ratio.

It was the USSR's Nikita Kruschev, but the point is well taken.

"
Should have used a fuel/air! Then we probably would not have gotten the report."Yeah! I keep wondering why we don't use the dang things.

You mean we missed one? I'd love to ask this thing if he was dancing in the streets on September 11, and how wonderful he thinks flying airliners into buildings is now that he's on the receiving end of some payback.

How do we gain eyewitness reports from someone so anxious to meet allah? You know, not all of these guys are radical fundamentalists or terrorists. A lot of the common soldiers probably just work there and don't like any of this much more than you or I do. We gotta do what we gotta do, but no reason to loose our humanity over it.

Yeah, darn it, this little cockroach survived. We need to call Orkin and step it up.

He said dozens of troops were killed when hundreds of tons of earth and rock and pigs feet came down on top of them.(Okay, just a little wishful thinking on my part).

Landslides ... that's good. If the mountain's in your way, move the mountain.

Hmm- 300 fighters killed? I say we kill 1000 "holy warriors" for every civilian killed at the WTC and the pentagon. Apparently the British used to feel similarly when dealing with problems in that part of the world, but they stopped at 100. I am OK with a 1000. I am far past caring if these people "like us". I would much prefer they fear us.
THE GRAVE OF THE HUNDERED HEAD, by Rudyard Kipling
Worth reading, if you're not up on your Kipling. By the way, a Subaltern is a Lieutenant, and Subadar and Jemadar are sepoy officers/sergeants.

...no reason to loose our humanity over it. now isn't that special !
say andy, been to see the WTC site in person yet ?
all the dust that's still blowing around in lower manhattan
has parts of the vaporized remains of our fellow citizens in it.
i have some of them in my lungs now, as i sit typing to you.
what exactly do you think those folks would think
about feeling even a trace of compassion for anyone
allied with those salami camelf*ckers ??

It fills my heart with joy to hear that some of these bastards, including perhaps Osama himself, may be trapped alive in their own caves with no chance of escape. May their deaths be more miserable than the poor folks trapped in the rubble of the WTC. I know it is not Christian to wish this but if we kill the entire Taliban without mercy, perhaps others will think twice about attacking us again. For it is not just retribution we must think about but deterrence.
