We've all read a possible reason why September 11 was chosen for the New York and DC atrocities.... That was the day in 1922 that the League of Nations adopted the British Balfour Declaration, which declared that Israel should have a homeland in Palestine. See, e.g., this link.
If this is the reason, then given the current alert, tomorrow, November 2, may be an even more significant date to remember because it is the date in 1917 that the Balfour Declaration was originally declared.

His Majesty's Government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.
I should be grateful if you would bring this declaration to the knowledge of the Zionist Federation.

I think that you should check the timeline for his statements before you jump to that incorrect conclusion. Bin Laden is a bit of a historical revisionist when giving excuses for his atrocities - for ten years or more he has been railing against the US attack on Iraq and the presence of US forces in the land of the 'holy sites'. Then, after the fact of the Sept. 11 WTC attack, he adds a sentence or two about Palestine to his anti-US tirade, and you then believe that it was his motivation for laying the groundwork for that attack.
You have seemingly fallen for yet another lie - a big, juicy, Bin Laden revisionist lie - Bin Laden planted it and you have eagerly lapped it up...
