Gov. Gray Davis warned Thursday that terrorists may be targeting four California bridges for an attack in the next week.
Law enforcement officials have "credible evidence" that terrorists are plotting a rush-hour attack on the Golden Gate Bridge or Bay Bridge, both in San Francisco, the Vincent Thomas Bridge at the Port of Los Angeles, or the Coronado Bridge in San Diego.
The attacks were planned between Friday and Nov. 9, Davis said.
Security around the bridges has been heightened and involves personnel ranging from the U.S. Coast Guard to the California Highway Patrol.
"The best preparation is to let terrorists know, we know what you're up to, we're ready for you." Davis said.

You've got to be kidding! IMHO that's the direct opposite of what we should be doing. If we truly had credible evidence of someone wanting to have that sort of attack you could EASILY prepare for it and not only prevent the attack but capture the terrorists at the same time. To let them know we know, only ensures that they switch targets and dates and does not help us capture anyone.
Yeah, right. Like we're ready for the bastids at the airports where the National Guard roam with unloaded rifles. Davis is a wimp who's more afraid of armed California citizens then he is of third world raghead terrorists. And he's got that other cowardly miscreant, the pussified AG, Bill (I hate your guns) Lockjaw to keep him company while they cower in their bunker.
