Overpasses...that would do the trick. I live in Santa Clarita and work near the People's Republic of Santa Monica; hence I was one of some 50,000 daily commuters who were totally hosed when the 1994 Northridge quake took down the interchange in the Newhall Pass.

Nothing got in or out, except cops and firemen via helicopter for a few days; that is, unless you wanted to drive 80 miles northeast, 20 south, and then 80 back west.

It sucked. If Achmed does that number, I'm personally gonna get his number. Leaving home at 3am to get 30 miles by 8am really sucks, and somebody's gonna pay if I have to do it again.

Newhall Pass...*that's* the one! Couldn't recall the name earlier. Thanks!

We moved to Northern California 10 years ago and haven't experienced a shaker in quite a while...thankfully.
