Unusual Sonic Boom Over Central Florida

Did anyone else hear a single, very loud, very defined sonic boom over the north Tampa Bay area today about 11:00 AM? There was nothing on the news about it this evening.
It wasn't the shuttle, there was no shuttle landing today, and the shuttle makes a series of 'softer' booms as it decelerates over Florida. This is unusual because the jets that fly from MacDill Airbase in South Tampa (central command headquarters) have to follow a flight path out into the Gulf of Mexico before going supersonic. There was no jet engine noise at all.

This thread might get pulled by the site because it's about cent comm which is just across Gandy Bridge from me. I didn't hear a thing but I'm reassured when they make their criss-crosses over my neighborhood.

Even little military F-16 jets tend to make a lot more noise than commerical airliners. If it is a sonic boom, just smile, knowing that the Air Force is doing their job.

I,m in Pensacola and we felt and heard it also. The largest we have experienced.

I grew up about 1/2 mile from the Dale Mabry gate to Macdill hearing the F4's flying over during the 70's. Im pretty used to the presence of military jets. This was something that's never happened before. this boom was STRONG, with no jet noise.
I was in Husdon, and my wife heard it in New Port Richey. Just wondering if anyone heard some info that was released by the military today.
