Oh, great. I fly to the East Coast from SEATAC next week. I hear they're laying in an extra supply of rubber gloves for that "special" search...

I've been flying in and out of SeaTac regularly the past couple of weeks with no problem. However in Houston I was held up by the security guards making all the guys take off their boots and belts. Fortunately my underwire didn't set off any alarms!!

It has been my experience that the smaller airports are being more intrusive - I watched a counter agent unpack an elderly woman's suitcase one garmet at a time - and this suitcase was to be checked not carried on!

Thanks for the info - it turns out that my connector is in Dulles (I feel like I've spent half my life in those funky little people transporters). And one of the legs is on Northwest. I shall avoid taking my lunch along in a thermos jug, as well.

While I do not relish an intrarectal tonsil examination, it's worse for the ladies. I was speaking with my dentist yesterday, who just got back from an East coast trip. She's a rheumatoid arthritis patient, and has metal joints, and so sets off every alarm in the place except the automobile ones. Out comes the wand, then a manual search - she said if it got any more intimate she'd have to start sending the (fortunately female) guard an anniversary card.
