Complaining about the lack of prayer in public schools is like complaining about the lack of prayer in a brothel. In other words, I doubt that that is the main thing God cares about.

Are you laughing yet??
Are you thinking yet???
Are you pompous yet?
Are you condescending yet?
Seriously, what a bunch of gibberish and disjointed connections, none of which have anything to do with 9/11.

Funny how, notwithstanding all of the above finger-wagging against our current culture (most of which wagging I agree with), you still can't explain why God allowed Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, Mae Tse Tung, Madame Mao, the Duvaliers, Pinochet, Tojo, a host of international royals across history, etc. to commit the atrocities that they have - sometimes in the name of God or otherwise. Could it be, perhaps, that we are not God's puppets and that we should not expect him/her/it to hold our hands and lead us through our lives? Whether or not you believe in a Christian God or any other God for that matter, we were created to be, to live and to act on our own... and to accept the consequences. Those who look to the sky for answers to why these things happen will always be disappointed, because you're not going to find it.

"Sounds like more "blame America" hogwash." I think the "blame America" crowd is referring to America's foreign policy in the Middle East. So, I agree in that respect that it would be hogwash. However, I think Ms. Graham was possilby alluding to America's moral condition.

"No different from the "blame God" hogwash... That's the point. I don't think Ms. Graham is blaming God. I think she is suggesting that we look at ourselves corporately as a country, and personally. Do we have our house morally and spiritually in order before we go and try to clean up someone else's? I think that's what she may have been trying to get across.

"And then the entertainment industry said, let's make TV shows and movies that promote profanity, violence, and illicit sex. " I wonder how many of the firemen and police who rushed into the burning WTC partook in these things. My guess is quite a few. Ever seen the inside of a firehouse?
If you want to know if God was there, look no further than these heroic men. He was in their hearts - and I cannot think of a more clear indication of his presence. To blame these attacks on the american cultural devolution is to legitimize the motivations of the terrorists. Many of whom cite the same trends as a force that "corrupts Islam."
I disapprove of the ongoing purge of religion from public life as many others do. But this did not cause September 11.

Im sure she is. And Ms. Graham is an absolute idiot. Her point is that since she doesnt like the way America is behaving, God must have rubber-stamped Mohammed Atta and crews plans for the murder of thousands.
Only a sick and twisted mind could perform the logical and moral gymnastics necessary to come to that conclusion.

'Where was God?'
Stupid and pointless question. Where was God during the great influenza outbreak during World War I? Or the great San Francisco earthquake of 1906? Anyone can name a thousand other random tragic events and pose the same question.

I'm only the messenger. But that's okay. I welcome the flames too.

no not really. Its just when WE abandon God (its never the other way around) we shouldnt be surprised at what happens when we are not under his protection. "If my people will humble themselves and pray, THEN will I save them" (paraphrased) If we dont humble ourselves, the others and life will do it for us. It is not God doing evil things, (he is incapable of evil) it is our rejection of God that enables the evil one to plan and execute evil doings.

WHERE WAS GOD ON SEPTEMBER 11TH?
He (or she) was in the same place as always. Up there with Appolo and Zeus and Thor and Juno and all those other mythological Gods.
