All Airlines have a passenger manifest list...If there was an Arabic with a Islamic name on the previous flights, I'm sure he will be interrogated. 9/11 has brought all the weirdos who live in the U.S. out of the woodwork! This could be just a freak who wanted to scare everyone. There's a good chance this person will be caught.

Who sat in that seat on the previous flight?? My thoughts exactly. Also it could have been the ground crew, before the passengers boarded, thinking it would be funny. I'm sure these possibilities are being investigated
