We have not seen such a serious threat since the Cuban missile crisis (quoted)
Fox News | 10/31/2001 | Fox News

Posted on 10/30/2001 10:59:14 PM PST by Don Joe

Fox News broke for a bulletin a few minutes ago. The announcer said that new information had just been received from the government, saying that the current emergency is very serious. They (the gov't) said that we have not seen such a serious threat since the Cuban missile crisis. They said that the most critical period would be within the next 72 hours.

I wish I could predict where the next attack was coming and then we could ambush the attackers and get intel from them.

Alas I do not have sufficient intel to do that. An alternqative that would accomplish the goal is an America totally under arms protecting every point where we could be attacked.

I note that several weeks back the Connecticut River Dam system seemed to be being scouted by people of apparent Middle eastern extraction but no arrests were made.

I've had my camera handy, but have not seen any MEs around the dams in the area since shortly after the attack. In the unlikely event that they were planning to blow the dams, they would need a lot more explosives than Timmy McVeigh's helpers gave him to breech the dam faces.

Even if they managed to sneak this much explosive in under the noses of the MDC authority, which has been on high alert, the breeches would not result in a sudden deluge, but rather a gradual opening of the initial breech, accompanied by rising water levels, as opposed to abrupt walls of water scouring the valleys. Because the villages directly beneath the dams are equipped with flood sirens (and the sound of them going off is quite unmistakeable), and because our FD's practice for flood evacs, there would likely be few casualties as a result.

On the other hand, the MEs could be scouting the reservoirs which are used for municipal drinking water with the notion of poisoning the water supply.

suffocating because they cannot swim

(1) There exists a 25-mile long fault line off the east coast of the US (right around the mid-Atlantic states). There are articles published over the past 2 years by scientists that predict the coming tsunami.

(2) There is an island in the Atlantic which has a volcano (not sure where, but there are lots of articles published about it), and scientists stated that if it should blow and part of it land in the Atlantic, a tsunami wipes out most of the east coast of the US from NYC to Washington DC.

(3) If Saddam uses the nuclear weaponry he acquired from us or from the Soviets, and blasts the Poles, most of Canada and the US get flooded.

Neither the fault line at the bottom of the ocean, nor this volcano are being guarded. I believe we have stations at both poles, but I doubt they are looking for wayward Iraqis.

Serious attack or no serious attack, if we let them roam the nation, it ain't comparable to the courrage displayed during the Cuban missile crisis.

Why not learn to spell? Your fascist message might be more effective if your followers, whatever back-alley they may happen to roam, can better understand your directions.

The volcano is La Cumbre on La Palma in the Canary Islands. However, if these people had nuclear weapons, do you believe they would use them in such an indirect manner as an attempt to precipitate such things as earthquakes or tsunamis ? Seems like a low payoff probability proposition for our enemy.

I want to limit my discussion on this subject so as not to give anyone too many ideas but for a start I am heartende by your vigilance and that of the Metropolitan District Commission. The amount of explosive needed to breech a dam is entirely dependant upon the type of explosive and the structure of the dam. Weakening some downstream dams and breeching an upstream dam may well lead to a major sytem failure. The placement of explosives would be critical . yes it would take a sizeable quantity to accomplish the job but nothing near the ten tons or so of the Murrah(sp?) Building. There is a risk but quantifying it is not a possible at this time. I for one am presuming it to be relatively low if there is adequate surveilance.

bill, go back to your socialist trash at DU. We don't care what opinion you hold --shallow, hate-filled master baiter people are not useful to open debate, never adding to the discussion-- and we don't much care for your wife's socialist desires either.

I think I hear them calling you ... Sua, Sua, here pali, pali, pali.

You are but an incidental pricker, getting your sick jollies by baiting those filled with emotion still from the demonic activities of terrorists that you so willingly defend in a subtle, sick sycophancy.

But the problem isn't the bomb itself--the problem is the raw materials inside of it. Hussein and Bin Laden both know how to produce the bomb but lack the materials to do it. Couldn't they get to the raw materials without a password?

Yeah yeah yeah. Everyone who disagrees with you and dares to say so should be jailed. We've heard it all before.

Potemkin victims always seek potemkin assaillants and pretend to be potemkin Robin Hoods. We feel for your sorry situation on the side of the persecuted ... not.

"They said something about it suffocating people when they open the can, and then said something about "it all works by the pressure" or something like that. They gave it a weird name I'd never heard before."

As I recall, the probable reference was to hydrogen cyanide -- released into ventilation systems. The effect of cyanide is that it blocks the lungs' absorption of oxygen so that the victim suffocates.

More spelling errors. Tsk tsk tsk. You tell me: following is what you have said:

As long as they will not ask to deport muslims and jail leftists supporting them, I will not take any within the government seriously.

So enlighten me: if jailing American citizens who do not agree with you is not a fascist approach, what might it be?

Your penchant for hyperbole is perspicaciously pusillanimous as you apply your punditry to persuade people of your perfunctorily hyped personage ... you’re a self-serving sham artist.
