We have not seen such a serious threat since the Cuban missile crisis (quoted)
Fox News | 10/31/2001 | Fox News

Fox News broke for a bulletin a few minutes ago. The announcer said that new information had just been received from the government, saying that the current emergency is very serious. They (the gov't) said that we have not seen such a serious threat since the Cuban missile crisis. They said that the most critical period would be within the next 72 hours.

Either that, or the words "Missile Crisis" won't be said again. I wonder where Fox got this quote. It's inconceivable to me that they didn't say anymore about it. That's even stranger than their pre-dawn timing.

Peter Jennings did a piece on the Cuban missle crisis on the news last night. Referred to the time when Americans were "really afraid".

When I heard the first report, 2:00 am CST, it was one of those,,,,,,,,,,,,"Fox News has learned,,,,,,"

I am not convinced this was "released" information,,,.

The statement refers to drowning in blood. Way I read it.

The Cuban missile crisis was a crisis because the Russians could completely destroy the U.S.. This time we are fighting barefoot peasants. Does anyone else think we have lost our balls?
Learn how to interpret what the antichrist states. In this case by linking the real battle (nuclear war Russia-US) with the "poor peasants" via 1962, the goal is to wipe off the brain's of people the real problem. This is underlined by adding that after 72 hours the big danger will be over.

Indeed. Hard to forget being a little kid in school practicing "duck and cover" under our desks.

A lot of people heard them say it, they repeated it all night, so I think they'd have a hard time "unsaying" it.

I'd rather be fishing. :)

BTW, they just repeated the "cuban missile crisis" thing, said it was the scariest part about the new info. I don't think the words are gonna go away.

The article fails to mention that "it's believed the orders were broadcast 3 times an hour by CNN and their sympathizers in an effort to provide balance to the war"....Might as well as I'm sure they would if they could.

"Primary" is the actual fissile physics package, "secondary" is the first thermonuclear stage.

I think what you meant is that the timing of the explosives won't work. Correct. Also, attempting to bypass the PAL without knowing EXACTLY which wires carry dummy loads and which wires are live is likely to trigger nasty antitampering devices.

... are there any dams near heavily populated areas? Or some other means of mass flooding/drowning possible?

The criteria you mention seem to fit some areas. The Columbia River Dams, Some of the Missouri River Dams, The Connecticut River Dams, The Ohio River Dams and a couple of other river system dams seem to fit this. I note that there may well be several such dams in CA that would cause severe problems to population centers. I note that several weeks back the Connecticut River Dam system seemed to be being scouted by people of apparent Middle eastern extraction but no arrests were made. New York City is pretty much immune from this due to the very long navigable portion of the Hudson upstream and the tidal nature of the Hudson within New York City itself.

Cynaide, in the form of the insecticide "Zyklon B," was also the Nazis' tool of choice for eradicating the Jews, BTW.

No, Zyklon B is/was an irreversible cholinesterase inhibitor, similar to other insecticides and binary nerve gases. It's mechanism of action is to inhibit the breakdown of acetylcholine at nerve endings, essentially making the parasympathetic nervous system fire without stopping (for the purists, there are exceptions--this is basic). The mechanism of action of cyanide is to replace oxygen on the heme (oxygen carrying iron) portion of hemoglogin, starving cells of oxygen.

Try heavier duty leg hold traps and make sure they are chained to something sturdy.

This place would probably drown a bunch of farmers, but the loss of electricity could possibly screw up a big chunk of the grid. I think it's the largest earthen dam in the world.

(I mention that place because we drive past it maybe once a month or so, and I always get the creeps looking at the big dirt hill next to the highway, thinking about all the water it's keeping from swamping the road.)

This makes me really nervous. We live very close to the Ohio River, I can see the River from my kitchen window. The Dam locks are about five miles from us. God be with us all!
