No! It is not a nuclear explosion. It is a conventional explosion with nuclear material attached

I do believe that there is some confusion over the terms. As I have heard it, a dirty bomb is a nuke that leaves a lot of radioactive material laying around. A Radiological Bomb is what you seem to be referencing. It is the radioactive material bomb despersed with converntion explosives.

Technically you are correct, but that implies either a crude device or one engineered to do this. I'm pretty sure what Fox is talking about is a radiological bomb. Sure hope they are wrong, or better yet that we catch it before it goes off...it would be nice to have a real success in this war.
