Attorney General Ashcroft news conference alerting that there may be addtional terrorist attacks this week.

Note the federal agencies notified on Ashcroft's list....The bulk of non-law enforment agencies were nuclear related....The NRC, Dept. of Energy etc.....

Conspiculously missing was the CDC and other related medical facilities....

I don't know if that is enough to glean a threat but it appears to be a clear direction....

Do you mean the Armenians? I don't think they consider themselves Arabs. And most of them are Christians. Armenia was the home of one of the earliest Christian populations. They came to CA to escape the slaughter of the Turks in the early 1900s.

I noticed that checklist of agencies notified too. I can't list specifically the ones on the last "alert", but they weren't the same as today's list. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Ashcroft specifically stated that the energy dept.,nuclear and FAA had been advised.They also said that this alert is for the next week----a more concise time frame than last time.

Good point. But the inclusion of these agencies does not point toward a nuclear attack, but an attack on a nuclear facility.

That detainee supposedly had a suitcase-size nuclear weapon.

The report went to great lengths to emphasize that it was not a nuclear device.
It was just a bomb with radioctive material in it simply to scatter it and make an area "dirty". No nuclear detonation possible.

OK, Let's see...We have a mass hijacking that involved at least four planes and 16 men. There is also evidence that more planes were involved. (At least two that I know of). A "Dirty" Nuclear encased bomb was found on a Terrorist in Israel. (Not a nuclear A-Bomb, but rather one that will spread radioactivity). We have Anthrax via mail, and we have knowledge of active and sleeper cells in the US. We have the World Trade Center complex including five large skyscrapers devistated with the loss of 6000 plus lives.

So I ask you...What is the limit to what they will use to hurt us? Is there a limit?

The answer is no. I expect a real nightmare to occur this week, and Halloween might really be the launch date.

i had planned to keep the small ones home and invite their friends over anyhow...

there have been several alerts sent to all law enforcement agencies
since the 11th, and once the media complained about why they weren't telling
the general public about it, ashcroft began telling the general public.
so now, some fault him for telling us? sheesh.

i don't think they have any more specific (i.e. target) information, but they
might have method. scary.

I have mixed feelings about that.
Just because it hasn't been brought to our attention doesn't mean something might have been stopped.

It much worse than that.
If increased vigilance averts one or 10 incidents, there is no way to prove it.
How do you "prove" you prevented something?

Yet that is exactly what the most stupid segment of our population will demand, beginning with the press.
We have a few of those Einsteins posting right here on Free Republic.
