"That fastball along the inside corner of the plate is just deadly." I still like the 'fastball into a low-flying pigeon" play better... :)

Tombstone Freeps to ya!

I like the theory that by losing two games in a row, the Yankees have set a trap for the Diamondbacks. I hope the D-backs do not get complacent. They are good at exploiting weaknesses and at thwarting the enemy. I don't know much about pitching, but the Yankees sure did look bad two games in a row.
The Diamondbacks can hold their heads high no matter what happens from now on.
Call me a former Cubs Fan, an example of the triumph of hope over experience.

Go Diamondbacks
and
GO BEARS!!!
Don't flame me, I am a White Sox fan + Diamondback Fan but I love Da Bears. I was at the game today, and it was the greatest game I've ever seen, and the gamewinning touchdown was about 30 feet infront of me. You have to understand what us Bear Fans have had to deal with for the last few years, the Bears sucked and now we're good.
But anyways, the Diamondbacks sure looked good today huh? Nothing like the Big Unit kicking butt as usual. I love NY but I think it's time for someone else to taste the World Series trophy. I'm guessing that the Yanks will win Game 3 with the Rocket pitching. But I still think it'll be the Diamondbacks in 6.

Tombstone Freeps to ya! I live within walking distance of Chavez Ravine, but my heart is in the most beautiful state in the Union. ARIZONA!!! Well, Dodger Stadium is truly a serene baseball experience; but as for the rest of CA, I enjoyed it best in my rearview mirror. It's getting to be puuurrrrrty foreign.

The Yankees will win the next two and then DBacks win game 5. Game six goes to the Yankees and game seven will be The Rocket against Randy J. I predict the Yankees win 2-1 in Game 7 and the second run is a home run off of whoever comes in for Johnson! You read it here and it will be a fact jack - you can bank on it :)

How did Brian Urlacher do? I'm just down the road (Hobbs, NM) from where he went to HS.

seems to me he laid off the fastball tonight. Or am I wrong? Haven't seen him on TV all season, so I don't know. In his Seatle days it was all fastball-splitter-homerun. Johnson mixed it up like a chef's salad tonight. I thought it was stupendous.
I still missed the heat. But those 96 mph 9th-inning fastballs were UNREAL.
God, how baseball is the greatest sport around.
PS Football don't ever start 'till November.

How did Brian Urlacher do? I'm just down the road (Hobbs, NM) from where he went to HS. It wasn't his best game of the year but he had an interception. Overall he played like the usual Brian Urlacher, with full force and dominance.

No one ever recovers from being a Cubs fan. The Diamondbacks are a real lift, though. It's fun to see the arrogant Yankees whoopped good two times in a row. However, I remain humble until the Series is won.
My son knows the college kids who took the goat to Cubs stadium to remove the goat curse. It didn't work but it made the newspapers. As Cubs fans know, a man was kicked out of the games for bringing his pet goat (who always came to the stadium). The man cursed the team and said it would never win a pennant. The Cubs folded and never won a pennant since.

As a Braves fan, I remember the 1996 Series all too well. In Game 4, the Braves lost that big lead they had on Yankees and the Yankees won in extra innings. That was the turning point of the Series, and it allowed the Yankees to win the Series in 6 games.
