I just got back from the pub after a few pints of Guinness. Would you like to meet me in the parking lot and kiss my Royal Irish............!

You would find yourself dropped like a bad habit.

Giving money to the Red Cross is a bad habit. Better bring your lunch if you think you can drop me.

No, it's past your game time. Your from the DU. I've read your other post on your list and a conservative republican you're not. We can hang spies in wartime.

I'm guessing its like the UN. When you get into international politics, Israel always gets the short end of the stick. Healy tried to stick up for them, but I suspect her ARC board is full of liberals that dont like confrontation and have a natural affection for the muslim side of the geopolitical equasion.

If word gets out that the Red Cross has taken these funds and used them to either enrich their beauracracy, or to fund things not associated with 9-11, then it should be the end of the U.S. Red Cross. Audit these funds now. But of course the congress won't do this, no balls.

I had an uncle in W.W.II who joins others in their description of the ARC, versus the Salvation Army.

So we judge the worth and effectiveness of an organization by whether or not it charges men with jobs for a cup of coffee or t-shirts? Wants, not needs. What cheap, shallow, greedy men. That mindset does a great disservice to the greatest generation. . . .but I guess it explains where the baby boomer gene came from.

I wrote the red cross last night. Got a reply today. Here it is....

Hi Lowell:

Just a few quick thoughts, and thanks for expressing your concerns. First, there has been no policy reversal with respect to our withholding overhead dues to the Federation in protest of its continued exclusion of the Magen David Adom, Israel's equivalent of the Red Cross. That is our policy. The Red Cross Board of Governors frequently revisits this and other policies however our stance on withholding overhead dues has not changed. Regarding the Liberty Fund, let me be clear:

- The American Red Cross Liberty Fund, established the week of September 11, was established to ensure that all donations to the Red Cross since September 11, unless specifically designated otherwise will go to relieve the suffering of the victims, their families and dependents as well as to assist the emergency services crews on site for as long as it take. Liberty fund dollars will not be mixed or mingled with funds used to respond to natural disasters.

- The American Red Cross has already provided more cash assistance to victims, families and dependents - in the neighborhood of $90 million - than all other charitable organizations combined.

- The Liberty Fund is in place to ensure that those harmed in the September 11 attacks and the aftermath - like the anthrax assault victims - will be helped.

- All details on our funding is available at http://www.redcross.org/

I am personally proud and inspired by the job we are doing. - BB

FYI Regards Lowell

Great information. Good job. Now, I am confused. If Healy wanted the funds segregated, and this email says indeed they have segregated the funds, then why did she resign? It must all come down to the israel question.

Thanks for the clarification.

I was saying something flippant based upon little information or upon misinformation.

Thanks.

If I give 100 dollars for the relief of families and the ARC keeps 90 out of the 100, I'll send the money elsewhere and encourage others to do so.

Nice hypothetical, too bad it has absolutely nothing to do with the facts here. They've allocated $320 of the $375 pledged or donated. If the pledged, but not donated money is 10% or $37.5 million, that gives them a cusion of about $17.5 million, or 5% of all the money. (a bit better than Judicial Watch). Where you get 90% I can only guess. Sounds like DNC numbers used during the tax cut debate.

The home we were living in had an electrical fire and burned the entire understructure of the house. My sister-in-law, who lived on the other side and was "managing" the property for her father, had decided to NOT PAY the homeowner's insurance and kept the money for herself.

She immediately got a place to stay because she had 3 kids. My husband and I could get no help as we only have 6 cats & a dog. A neighbor called the Red Cross and they came down. They put us up in a hotel for 4 days, but we needed to stay with the property for the animals as well as possible break-ins. (we live in the boonies).

We begged the Red Cross to help us get a small temporary trailer; we even offered to pay rent on it...just so we could stay on the property and fix it up. They said, "we don't have those kind of resources". They told us to call them and they would give us vouchers for food & clothing. We called...and called...and called. Nothing. They finally sent us a Wal-Mart voucher for $60 to replace my husband's work boots...that was it. We took the voucher to Wal-Mart and they would not honor it; they said the Red Cross never reimburses them, so they won't take vouchers anymore.

My husband and I moved back in, staying in one room with a woodstove and an extension cord going across 2 acres from our neighbor's. My husband hand-pumped 60 gallons of water a week from the well next door; we used lanterns, camping equipment and propane. We went to a relative's home weekly for a shower...my husband fixed the electric, plumbing and septic guided by a headlight and propane lanterns. We lived like this from February-April.

Oh, and the Red Cross? They dropped off "comfort kits" containing a toothbrush, Scope, Dial Soap, deodorant, a comb, a pencil, 3 sheets of paper, a pair of teal-colored knit winter gloves and a pair of mens white crew socks.

The moral of the story?

To hell with the Red Cross; they are useless. They are nothing more than a symbol. They have stealing and fraud down to a Fine Art.

But my husband?....well...he's a keeper! (I love you sweetie!)

sorry, couldn't help that outburst!

I wasn't sure I'd heard it correctly. Too bad she resigned. Seems she was the only one there with any sense of morality.

The Red Cross should be bombarded with messages to put the money available to 9/11 victims-- or resign.

You are correct.

The Red Cross has tricked thousands and thousand of donors to steal a third of a billion dollars.

Healy may have been removed as a diversion because she dared to put the Israeli Mogan David (their Red Cross)
on an equal par with the Islamic Red Crescent.

I think that is it in a nutshell. She may or may not have been as crooked in other aspects, but she did stand up for Israel which I applaude vividly.
