Wow! I'm reading along and up jumps this:

...and I suddenly realize this isn't Kansas. Mr Theodore Dalrymple, writing in the Spectator (UK), says bluntly what is probably true but not printable in the good old US of A. Not sure but what I'm glad of it.

On the other hand, his notion that some cultures truly need reforming, notwithstanding leftist charges of cultural imperialism, is genuinely true. Witness the Aztec culture. They did human sacrifice. The bleeding heart revisionists of today ignore the bleeding hearts which were extracted from sacrificial victims in mid beat. That culture needed reforming.

Some would insist that the dictum, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do", applies only to us. I think that if folks want to come to the US or UK, they need to drop all but the slimmest of their old cultural baggage in order to help boost the greater good of the new order they have sought. Instead, we have Little Korea, the Barrio, Little Islamia in our cities; and there is little evidence that it is but a transitory reality.

I am reading the book by Jeane Sasson titled "Princess" it's about the lives of women in the Royal Family of house of Saud.

Very interesting about how poorly the Royal Families women are treated. Cant imagine how run of the mill women must be treated.

I can understand their rage they have at the west’s poking around in their affairs, as the Muslims sure don’t want to loose their gender-based apartheid.

Women are slaves in Muslim Nations. Their births are not recorded and neither are their deaths.

Am I the only one who noticed this? I mean, that's illegal in the states, even in places like Hope Arkansas. Basically, just from looking at some of the images in the news (the fact that Pakistanis all seem to look like the "Tuco" character which Eli Wallach played in 'The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly' etc) I was starting to suspect that there might be a genetic component to the problems which the pakis and indonesians seem to experience and this would tend to confirm it.
