Keith Davies, None, U.S.A, 23/10/2001:
This is the most one sided, politically incorrect, and anti Israel nonsensical journalism I have read on the subject.
The Intifada was started by the Palistinians, 97% of the concessions were offered to find a solution. The PA wanted 2 million Palistinians to be allowed to settle within Israel borders pre 1948 in order to ratify peace, that is just not a reality.
There is no mention of the many atrocities and hate weighted against Israel.Irish and European journalists are great at providing advice and criticism against Israel. I wonder what the Irish people would do if every day the loyalist gangs like the UVF and the like decided to shoot and bomb civilians in the Irish Republic? I would count on it that the reaction from the Irish Government would be similar to Israel's response to the Palistinians who are carrying out the same actions. There has been many civilains killed on both sides. The truth is that every time a peaceful solution is close, Mr Arafat is afraid to make that final step, either because he cannot, for his extremists will not let him or he does not want peace for his people.
At the same time Mr. Arafat espouses peace, his government sponsored media incites hatred of Jews and Israel. Your Journalist who does not even have the courage to sign his name to this article, is ignorant of the facts and the problems of the Israeli Palistinian confict that plagues the Middle East.
*sigh*. See #30, dingus. Then, go back to Afghanistan and crawl back into your cave.
;) ttt
The Pals dream of 'salami tactics' and your baloney can not hide it.
The "state terrorism" term is only applied to Israel, and no other country, although their have been attempts to "hitch" our action in Afghanistan with this linguistic propaganda burden.
The "state terrorism" term has evolved recently in response to increased and undisputed tageting of civilians in Israel, which lefty propagandists cannot sidestep. Therefore, to make the Israeli's seem eqaul to or worse, the "state terrorism" buzz-phrase was concocted.
Other recent attempts in a similar vein have been an attempted revival of the "Zionism is Racism" canard. It is a nationalism, just like pan-arabism or what have you.
Criticism of Israel can be legitimate and it can be anti-semitic. I am very critical of the ex-Israeli prime minister Shamir because he torpedoed a deal that his then foreign minister Peres negotiated in 1986 with Jordan's king Hussein. Under that deal most of the West Bank would have been returned to Jordan and the Palestinians would have become Jordan's problem.
However, a lot of anti-semites hide behind the "anti-zionist" and anti-Israel label because anti-semitism is no longer respectable, while anti-zionism allows them to express their hostility to Jews. Criticism of Israel motivated by legitimate concerns or ignorance is obviously not anti-semitic.
All true, veronica and what's with these people. I don't see any facts only propaganda and half truths. I don't see the entire story being told at all....
Can you tell me which precept of Catholicism taught that the Jews should be exploited and exterminated in the camps?
Your statement is baloney. Their problem is that Israel refuses to withdraw from the occupied territories and concede the Palestinian right to exist in a free and sovereign Palestine.
