25 people each day die from the Flu and 150 die each day from car accidents. Only 3 people have died from anthrax so far so I wouldn't worry too much and stay healthy, get your flu shoot and go to the doctor as soon as you feel sick. This is about all you can do in addition to staying alert to strange happenings around you?

It's getting pretty
close to home for me, but I'm still not all that worried. I can get concerned about Smallpox or Marburg U (and others), but if penicillin kills it, it doesn't scare me.

I wonder how much white powder was floating around before the scare? Every time something is found, it makes all the major networks, "White powder here", "White Powder there". How many times do they break in with, "It's a Hoax", or "It was just cement powder" to ease everyone's minds? Frankly, the media is at fault for reporting every possible occurance of something that isn't there.

Since 9.11 I have started to become a crisis junkie and I am actually starting to get tired of hearing about anthrax. That is not in deregard or disrespect for those suffering. I have made anthrax a part of life and just one more thing to have to deal with. I have excepted things in the last 6 weeks I never dreamed I could.

It's not the white powder that scares me although I bet the 2 thousand workers in the Brentwood branch post office are justifyably jittery. Not to mention all the other postal workers in the country.
What scares the livin $hit outa me is that the boobs in control won't deport all ME visitors NOW and STOP the river of terrs now coming in at all borders and ports. THAT'S scary. Real scary.

Hillary Rodham Clinton, the shameless, grasping, clutching shrew was booed off the stage at Madison Square Garden this past weekend. Booed right off the stage by her own constituents! What a great day for America.

Turn of the TV, and stop listening to people like you.

When this comes up in conversation, I point out most types of VD are harder to deal with in a medical setting.
I mean the stuff we have seen to date is so lame most any antibiotic will work. Got other things to worry about - like staying warm & shoveling snow ; )

The two most disturbing things about this anthrax stuff are the sense of surprise that is evident over simple things like the post office getting infected by the mail going through it, and the lack of info on the investigation into who sent the lettters. Since they found the apartment house that the letters were sent from, nothing in the news, except the story in the Aussie paper that we were looking for a Pakistani who had disappeared from the apartment house.

Keep this in perspective -- divide the number of deaths due to Anthrax by the total population of the US. The resulting percentage is rather small, isn't it? Look at the BIG picture and get some sleep....

I too am worried about the slow response. But I have the feeling that GWB is too and I think we're going to see some changes in his administration. Bush is a leader who demands results and he has too much respect and love for this country to tolerate those who don't perform well enough under the present circumstances. IMHO
