Is anyone concerned about this anthrax stuff

I don't know about you, but this is starting to get on my nerves. Even though we have the A team in the White House, it appears as though even they are having trouble staying ahead of this. Can you imagine if another germ or two were introduced. We keep hearing something new each day, and usually it is not good news. I know this is still small scale stuff (just in an isolated area) and I am not losing faith, but....are we winning this war? It is obvious they are getting what they wanted....paranoia...(maybe like this post). I guess you have to still look at these incidents as isolated incidents. Nothing to panic about, but they are keeping us (whomever they are) busy with this and it sounds like we don't have a clue as to who is doing this. A penny for your thoughts.

I'm beginning to worry about how my life will change when I win the lottery.

I really believe the media is sensationalizing this by trying to get the first new "anthrax" story for ratings. And that's pathetic. Take a look at this site, we are promoting it too. It's the same mentality. "I want to be the first to post my story in Breaking News." And take a look at how many people post to an anthrax scare thread compared to the anthrax hoax threads. There are two links on #11.

I understand about the flu figgure, but that is hardly the point. I am outraged at the loss of life to antrax even if only one person died.
It seems to be presented as...ohh just a little matter that is not that serious. When someone dies because someone killed them, and is still attempting to kill more, it is not a little matter. These three did not die of the flu they would still be with their families today had they not been murdered.
I see alot of talk about Antrax, but I am getting pretty put off at so little outrage. American's were attacked and murdered, I'm furious about it. If a person has to add three more to the figgure in NYC and DC to attain outrage then do it.

The two most disturbing things about this anthrax stuff are the sense of surprise that is evident over simple things like the post office getting infected by the mail going through it, and the lack of info on the investigation into who sent the lettters. Since they found the apartment house that the letters were sent from, nothing in the news, except the story in the Aussie paper that we were looking for a Pakistani who had disappeared from the apartment house.

Keep this in perspective -- divide the number of deaths due to Anthrax by the total population of the US. The resulting percentage is rather small, isn't it? Look at the BIG picture and get some sleep....

I too am worried about the slow response. But I have the feeling that GWB is too and I think we're going to see some changes in his administration. Bush is a leader who demands results and he has too much respect and love for this country to tolerate those who don't perform well enough under the present circumstances. IMHO

Why there may not be more outrage is I think people are maybe starting to dig in and hunker down for the long haul. This is war and we are fighting people who in my opinion not quite(sp) sane. All anyone can do is adjust to each new development. Refuse to let the ba$tard get us down and hope that the powers that be have their sh!t together. This maybe life for a long while.

Concerned, yes. Panicked, no.
Despite all the hoopla, this anthrax seems to be a rather crude and low level attack unless there is a lot more here than meets the eye.
I'll save my "freaking out" for after the report confiming the first case of smallpox anywhere in this country. That problem will quickly spin out of control and be a civilization-changing event, at least as far as we are concerned.

"What scares the livin $hit outa me is that the boobs in control won't deport all ME visitors NOW and STOP the river of terrs now coming in at all borders and ports. THAT'S scary. Real scary."
10-4 on that sentiment. Time to pull all the old liberty ships out of moth balls, and load them up with one way passengers.

I STILL say you need to rename that thing 'The Anthrax Attack List'. I don't think the postal workers of america appreciate giving this list such a dimunitive and belittling title.

About 40,000 - 45,000 die each year in car wrecks in the US. Since 9-11, about 5,000 people have been killed in this country in car wrecks. Ive often wondered what would happen if all the news services suddenly started covering car wrecks like they cover major disasters. Would we drive more carefully? Would we be afraid to drive? Would we want the CIA to assassinate drunk drivers?

No, not to minimize that three people so far have lost their lives and others are gravely ill, but I am not concerned.
It's obvious that someone wants to frighten us, kill us, and destroy the USA. It is just as obvious that anthrax won't do the job.
After the WTC, anthrax was their second-best effort. The poor job they have done with anthrax shows us their limitations.
