why did they keep the crescent moon as their "logo"? Same reason the jews keep the Star of David around... ancestor's worhip of Ishtar.

Why is there such an arugument on this thread that a child's upbringing largely determines his/her choice of religion as a adult? Remember the saying, you have to be "very" religious to convert to another religion (instead of staying within your own religious upbringing).
Which is why in most cases, Protestants may go back and forth between Presbyterian, Methodist, evangelical congregations etc., but don't seriously consider becoming Catholic or Jewish unless the influence of a partner is involved.

Try picturing the following: the "Star of David" is actually first and foremost "The Magen David" -- it is two triangles: one pointing up, one pointing down.
"So above, so below..."

Wm Bach, Ishtar was the Queen of Heaven, Venus. Nothing to do with ancestor worship at all. The ancient gods were planetary, as was the Moon, worshipped by the nomads from the arabian peninsula; whose time reckonning was from crescent to crescent i.e., Lunar Months. The origins and antiquity of this moon & stone worshipping cult are provided in extraordinary detail on:
www.harkarkom.com/ ...and if you are patient enough to look through the numerous photographs on this beautiful Site, you will see at least two of the most ancient representations of the crescent moon discovered. Plus a few surprises, might I add. Enjoy.
