Ya, it seemed a bit too good to be true. The characters were a bit too charicature. The internet is a wonderful thing, but also has its downside.

Thanks very much. I too was a member of the Yacht Club, 1965-1966, on Swift Boats. Loads of fun...?

"Did you notice - that the campus protests against the "unjust" war in Vietnam, ended with the end of the draft?" "It wasn't the war they opposed....it was the chance they may have to put there red asses on the line."
Just because it needed sayin' again..............

Do you know if anybody has vetted this (no pun intended) with someone at the Best Western Restaurant in Moscow ID? It would be good to validate the article!
I'd do it but it is an expensive call for me in Sweden!
A Grosse Ile BUMP to you!

Excellent.
The Pieceniks really hate it when free speech works both ways...

A couple of people called and it was an urban legend. A hell of a story, but an urban legend.

Semper Fi, marines.
Our FReeping is paying dividends. It appears that being a peacenik is becoming increasingly "uncool".
We'll never completely rid ourselves of these liberal ghools, but they are going to become ever increasingly isolated from mainstream society, including the "skulls full of mush" that they try to recruit.

A very late
Thank You for the reference to the USO Canteen link, Freepers Style; very interesting and what a great bunch of folks to have put it together. I'm still working and I have to travel a lot so my correspondence tends to be a little erratic. I tend to post a lot more during the weekends.
Thanks again and I look forward to more contact with all my new Freeper friends.
Cheers from Chile

Dan, speaking as a University of Idaho alumni (1985 & 1986) I am surprised how much the school's politics have changed. I am not surprised, however, by the reaction of the locals, Idahoans are an independant and conservative lot (one of the highest Republican voting percentages in the country during the last election). I've eaten many a time at the Best Western Inn, and you would've gotten my full support. I'm alittle surprised, however, that some of the locals didn't start a brawl? EX-Idahoan and Vandal!

Thanks for the ping.
I had the good fortune to walk the sacred soil of Idaho several days ago.
